Slate Attchment

I'm in the process of re-assembling a 3 piece slate black crown 9' table. Should I use the existing screw holes or drill them out and plug them with glued doweling, sand flush and start over as if new?

I'm in the process of re-assembling a 3 piece slate black crown 9' table. Should I use the existing screw holes or drill them out and plug them with glued doweling, sand flush and start over as if new?

Line up the slate where it should be on the table and drill out the holes in the frame with a 1/4" long drill bit then use:

4" long 1/4-20 flat head screw


Flat Washer


Lock Washer


1/4-20 Nut
