Taking apart a Palmer Cue?

This was actually a very nice cue. It has the original period correct shafts, a back-end that is not abused, and possibly a forearm in decent condition.

All it probably needs is a rewrap and removal of the aftermarket washers.

It sold for a best offer of $375 which is quite a deal in my opinion.

Imagine how it would present with the washers removed and a simple re-wrap. :wink:

I was simply contrasting that with what the OP did. Gotta admit, it would be pretty simple to have that Ebay cue looking great...but as it is, hard to see past the neon so the cue sold low.

If any of you have a straight Palmer shaft whose collar matches my Model D, I would be very interested in it. A buddy uses this same model Palmer to kick everyone's butts regularly - his shaft is around 11.5 and it is one of the finest shafts I've ever hit with. Very similar to some of the ancient Hoppe Pro shafts that are thin but still very stiff.
