I keep getting e-mails from Ustream people. I just delete them, but they are starting to become annoying. Today I just got three from Ustream written in Chinese.

Recently on the Katie Couric show, she was sharing how to declutter your life. If you use gmail or Yahoo! as your e-mail provider, you csn enroll in Unroll.me and take charge of all the annoying spam e-mails.

Check it out: Unroll.me

Meanwhile, I don't ever want to sign up for anything on Ustream again. The only time I ever ventured on Ustream was for pool stuff. This is quite annoying!

I used a site that would find multiple car insurance quotes. It worked just fine and I got a dozen or so prices from insurance companies. But they make you enter your phone number. Big mistake. Not only did all the insurance companies call me but I to this day years later I am still getting calls from India trying to sell me car insurance and extended warranties.

I keep getting bombarded with ads for sneakers.
I did see a pair of New Balance 999s that I like, though. :)

You should only get Ustream emails from users you are subscribed to.

I like the fact that they email me about my subsciptions. If you get any that you don't want, just unsuscribe from THAT USER.

If you opt out of the email or use that blocking service JAM mentioned, you won't get any, even from your subscriptions.

Unfortunately there was someone pushing for everyone to go subscribe to every single pool related stream out there. Those who did were subsequently flooded with emails.

Please don't block all Ustreamers.

Thanks,

Ray

My only phone is a company cell phone. So I can't do anything with it.
And I'm too cheap to get a personal phone.:sorry:

Ray, on this Unroll.me, you can choose who you want to subscribe to. So folks can still keep you subscribed if they want, no problem.

But I am getting e-mails from Ustreams written in Chinese. I don't get it.

Unroll Me looks interesting. When I get my new hot rod PC going, I will look into it.

People get email viruses and the next thing you know, you are getting spammed with everything, porn included. If they had you in their address book you're getting email bombed.

Myself, I get the odd email from UStream.

You need to have a "junk" email account from say yahoo that you use when enroll or register for these type of things. You don't have check it unless you need to confirm your registration following a new registration. it will simplify things for you.

Google voice has nothing to do with your company phone. You can use google voice even if you don't own a phone. You could in theory check your messages from a pay phone ( if you could find one) or any phone you could get access to. It gives you a phone # to give those you don't want calling your main #. Now you could also get it to ring on your current cell phone if you chose to but you don't have to set it up that way. You can also use google voice to call or text from a computer/tablet etc.

This is a great idea. I have gmail, which does a great job filtering spam, but I also have 6 email accounts for different departments.

Jennie,

When you get unsolicited emails from "name brand" companies then it is a near certainty that they are fake and using what's called phishing to try and get you to click on a link inside the email. If you use Gmail just highlight the email and mark it as spam. Then any similar emails will get deleted before you see them. If they persist then you can also filter them using Gmail's filter creation tools.

Whatever you do don't click on any of the links in the emails and don't enter any logins or passwords if you happen to follow those links. The links are designed to get you to do a few things, go to a site that immediately installs malicious programs on yoru computer, tries to trick you into giving up your login information by presenting you with a counterfeit login screen, or fills up your computer screen with ads among other things.

If you report emails like this then google uses those reports to blacklist the email content, the links, and the source. Thus by you reporting the ones that do get through you help to insure that everyone in the future wont see them by adding to googles list of known spammers and malicious sites.
