I've played with a lot of cues. Most seem like fashion over function. With the exception of a precious few truly gifted cue makers, I think most of the money spent on cues is due to what I would call "The Emporer's New Clothes" syndrome. I have found that Predator shafts make any cue shoot better, much better. While I count my Huebler H-A & Scruggs Titleist Conversion among my most valued possessions, I've never shot with a cue that feels better to play with than my $65.00 Dufferin Sneaky Pete. I know saying all this probably makes me uncool, but I'm being honest. YMMV.

moochie (must have blk dot shaft)
perry (gotta pay full retail for an early model)

eason does great inlay work and when you consider that his only inlaying tools are an icepick it's even more amazing.

Ok, so your great great great great someone leaves you some cash but the rules to spend the $$ is you have to buy one cue from each of your top 5 favorite cue makers!

List them out.....

Omen
Searing
Shurtz
Southwest

No numbers...no particular order. They all make beautiful nice hitting cues. If I had to choose one it would probably be Pete Ohman. One of these days I am going to have him make my dream cue!

Here is one that may be overlooked as I continue to look for #5....Chris Nitti I am playing with one now and it definitely deserves mention. Especially if you like the Kersonbrock/Bender/SW type "hit"

  2. Tascarella
  3. Ginacue
  4. Southwest
  5. Murrell

The reason i picked those cue makers because they are the only cuemakers that i tried and test hit..Paul Mottey is #1 on my list because it's my playing cue :grin-square:....The rest of the cuemaker i cannot say they are on my top 5 because i haven't tried or hit with those cues.

George Balabushka ....the king of cueolgy.

Gus did it best. His cues will live forever.

Searing... Mr. Meticulus, always perfection. And can they play.(Please Dennis I need my baby!)

Sorry, had to gather myself, well on with the others.

Erinie Gutierrez... Unique, and classic. The standard by which others will be compared.

DPK.... Out there, but can he cook! Real Innovator.

Hercek... Detail beyond belief. Real playable art.

Honorable mention to Harvey Martin, he made the wood to wood thing, work really really well. And others have followed his example.

I'm going to list mine based on the following criteria... design, execution, cleanliness, playability (based on 'popular opinion' with a little of my own added :)), and overall uniqueness.

Keep in mind, these are in no particular order.
