2016 World 9-Ball Championship

Philippino pool is getting weaker and weaker every year passing. The good ol days are long gone.

wow if Alex is considered Canadian then there are no Pinoys in last 8
Last year w9b has orcullo in last 8
This would be first time there is no pinoy in last 8 of w9b

i think pool is just not as lucrative as it used to be, and that gives promoters much less motivation to bring out new talent. Doesn't mean that for every Biado there isn't another 50 undiscovered in the country

How ironic, the one who's carrying the torch for Philippine pool is a woman, and a teen at that...

no there is not
its different these days

also, look for the current political regime to hinder pool even further

Back in the days, the guys used to give the women the orange crush plus 7 games on the wire in a race to 11 in the Philippines, not anymore. The Filipinos will be fine, I'm sure there are a lot more up and comers there, they're churning monsters there by the minute...

Pool is engraved there, regime or not. They've gone to Martial Law and whatnot, they're still shooting balls there.

Not much buzz talk about Kevin Cheng current US Open 9 ball champ and now a deep run in world championships the guy is a hell of a player :)

Got to root for Shane here though Go USA :D

Alex Pagulayan looking really strong too

you're wrong

pool is a niche game there amoungst the poor in a few of the bigger towns only

it's easy to think otherwise living here

LOL!
I was just about to type my thoughts of Peach taking this one down. Luckily I checked the score board first :thumb:
Private joke, but it made me chuckle...

i like all three of those guys alot
if Cheng wins you would have to consider him right at the top of the current world beaters

3 of my top 5 favorite players still in, Shane, Alex, Shaw, if only Earl and Efren were there:grin:
