2016 World 9-Ball Championship

Is anyone still watching the stream? Some lady is letting all of her multiple personalities sing! Closing ceremonies are where it's at!! :D:D:D:D

Yes, I've always thought this is the way they should wrap up the World 9-Ball Championship.

I think Barry Behrman would approve.

is it not possible to simply say Albin played great and deserved the win, congrats.

And Shane, who is one of the best in the world, tried hard but didn't get it done. And while it def wasn't his goal, 2nd in the World 9ball doesn't make him a hack.

It's always easy to be critical of the guys under the bright lights on tv tables with the world watching.

Nice shooting, Albin!

Hope you get another shot, Shane. :)

best,
brian kc
A Very classy rebuttal. Way better then he deserved.

A pool tournament and a concert all in one! Now if we can just add a bikini competition (No, not the players), it will be a complete success!

The ceremony is making this even harder for Shane!

Come on Albin! Europe is back!

I think the Miss Universe pageant was scheduled to take place in the same venue today. The finals match ran a little long, so they had to start the pageant right after the match ended..

Thanks. So USA had six? Shane, Shawn Wilkie, Skyler, Oscar, Hunter, and Rob Hart.

I'm not familiar with Rob Hart. I'll have to look him up.

Kevin his brother is a funny mofo

Overall, I have to say this year's field is one of strongest ever. Many early exits by top guns.

But the final is disappointing and a letdown. It is too one sided with the winner blowing away the loser and no big fightback. The match was literally over halfway when I switched on and it was 6-1 :(
I would have preferred a final where both players gave it their all and it is close fight like last 2 years. More drama and edge of seat thrills
One of the semifinals or quarterfinals would have been a better final:grin:

I think the tournament was better when it was winner break. Any player could come back from a huge deficit. Alternate break really eliminates the chance of this happening. It almost happened when Appleton just hung on to win against Li Hewen in 2012.

you need to have a different approach in alternating breaks - make sure you win the rack you break, and steal at least 2 or 3 of your opponent's rack.

Congratulations to Albin.
Stellar fundamentals, safety, shot making.

Albin- Training academy in Austria, coach, euro tour

Shane - bar box tourneys.

lol well put. Succinct but brutal, and the truth.

The other difference is the mental game. For some reason the American norm is to shake your head and shrug etc. when things don't go your way. Maybe Earl is the model. You just can't show that kind of negative body language without it affecting you. Shane is usually good enough that he gets by, but I think it got to him in the first half of this match, and that's why he lost.

Ted Lerner has lost his decency, if he ever had any. This is getting more ridiculous every year. Thanks Qatar.

That's gotta be the worst closing and awards ceremony that I've ever seen in my life for pool. Congrats to the players but shame on the producers and the promotors who have no clue what they are doing.
