Diamond pro price question

A price increase of 33% seems like an awful lot, especially since the tables seem to be the exact same as before. I was probably going to buy one this year but now I’ll have to think about it.

It may be that one dealer had a large price increase on their Diamond’s for whatever reason, but I wouldn’t assume that Diamond had such a huge price increase over such a short time. Maybe Trent can confirm this?

They've been the same for quite some time. I think Diamond has held off raising prices as long as possible. The cost of EVERYTHING has gone up so i'm not surprised they finally raised their prices. The Pro-Am went up $2500. That's pretty stout.

Diamond raised prices on everything. The Pro retails for 10grand now. Most places have them for around $8,000. UPDATE: I contacted Diamond directly and they said all of their suppliers raised their prices, some dramatically. They really had no choice but to raise them. They suggested keeping track of big Diamond events and try to get a used tournament table. Good idea.

That $5995 in December was continued Black Friday sale price, just so we're clear.

I think they were $6995 before the holiday sale.

Thank you for the hope and kind words. I’m 42 and should have a good amount of years left. My other option I’m considering is eating a healthier diet and getting with my physical therapist and create a more robust exercise regimen to further strengthen the tendon. I’m not too overweight (5’5” 160lbs) but loosing a few pounds would put less stress on my foot. I don’t need the money but I don’t want to look at it every day and not be able to play.
Maybe you could use that as inspiration for getting in better shape. If you're still unable to play pool after getting in better shape, you're still in better shape. Wishing you the best either way.

On your feet and squatting, bring up a question of have you tried the snooker stance?

Also about PT. If an hour a day makes you hurt after a week. Try 15 minutes every other day. If after a week or two it's OK try 20 minutes every other day. I know it seems impossibly long and drawn out but it's the way it works. Been there, done that.

I saw this thread regarding a price increase. I ordered my Diamond Paragon from Heath Manning on May 4th 2020 and it was delivered in early September. The table on his website was posted at a higher price than when I ordered. I used their online configuration menu and the same table and light priced out at about 21% more than I paid in May.

Some may disagree, but this sudden huge price increase by Diamond is likely going to make the Brunswick GC6 far more attractive, particularly considering their retail price is generally quite negotiable from some of the Brunswick dealers.

Don’t underestimate the value. Diamond tables take about 3-4 months to get. Maybe somebody wants a table ASAP and will buy yours. Wait for the right buyer.
I’m starting to see that now. I went on the website I bought it from and it’s almost 3k more than I bought it for less than two years ago. It actually didn’t exit production and get installed until last May. I may have a more valuable item than I first thought.

Can you adapt. People play on chairs, stools. Great creative. Try different things. You know you love the table.
The answer to your question is yes I can adapt but I have no desire to. Yes, I do like the table very much. It’s my dream table.

I’m definitely going to get in better health either way. Thank you for the well wishes.

Yes, I did try the snooker stance this last time. I was really thinking it would work but unfortunately it ended in the same pain as the other ways.

I would wait at least a year for your PT / rehab to kick in...there are plenty of drills to do while not even walking around a table...you can put your bent knee on a chair to take pressure off of your foot...selling the table would be my last resort....you have 25 more years to enjoy it even if for the next year your playing from a scooter/ power chair... just my $.02....
Thank you for the advice. I’m going to carefully consider what’s best.

Also, to help drive home the point, on December 18th when o visited this website, the price was 5995$. That's 2k less. Infact, my table, delivered and set up will cost me less than I can buy a table for today... glad I ordered when I did. And with the amount of work I'm doing to ready the room in the mean time, I need every bit of the 12-14 week backorder. In fact I called Rick and asked to be put to the back burner just so I can try to have the room completely finished by time the table comes - otherwise it goes in the living room and I'll probably have to sleep on it too.

Good luck to the OP. Be smart man, I think you know what you need to do!

Thank you for wishing me good luck. My heart says to keep it but my head says sell it.

I agree. I considered the gc6 before choosing the Diamond.

I guess I would ask if your foot only hurts when playing pool? If not, you need to go to a doctor anyways, if so, go to the doc and tell him/show him what makes your foot hurt and see what you can do.

I had shoulder surgery years ago, I wasn't playing much at the time but when I did get back into it I had to do a little at home PT to get the shoulder up to par - 2 years later.

Give it time.

I’m 64 and at age 59 (5 years ago next month) I had shoulder replacement surgery. My surgeon told me after one year post surgery, it was pretty much not going to get any better from that point, even with doing the daily exercises.

I’m glad to report he was terribly wrong. Even after two years I was frustrated that I couldn’t play more than two or three times a week - having to rest it for a day or two after every session. It honestly wasn’t until this past year that I feel like I can now play five or six days a week with no problems.

You just need to have patience, and at only 42, you should be fine. If you love pool, at some point in the future, you will greatly regret it if you sell your Diamond table!
