SVB to Kick Off High Run Attempts

I know you and if you say it I am betting your way all the way.
If he left it at best player in the US that goes without question.

I've heard the chatter about them snubbing John but I haven't been paying attention until last night, was really surprised he actually said that Shane was best straight pool player.

I guess if you count a guy as no longer playing when he has hand surgery then I can probably agree, but damn, they act like he "quit" playing years ago and has no intention of playing again.

I'm glad they're doing this and wish everybody good luck, but damn

It may be doable, it may not.

Like I just said, we're new at this and the on-site guys are doing good work and putting in long hours. Give them a chance.

Lou Figueroa
I still like what you guys are doing and I'm sure the players appreciate it, hopefully you guys and John can find common ground someday(when he heals)

Anyway, I hope everybody enjoys the show

But is JS actively competing -- I thought a hand surgery has put him out of commission.

Lou Figueroa
I didn’t hear that….that sucks. Hard to stay in stroke on the sidelines, but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s a top five for me. He could probably cut off a few digits and still whoop me.

Nope that wasn't the context. And I imagine, as you certainly can, that John will be able to play after he recovers and as such would be not only competitive in the high run contest but would straight up drill Shane at it.

John, however, was not even invited as it clear that he is being snubbed. Maybe if he had been and was ready to play then your contest would have been over before it started based on the bar he might have set.

As it is though you can remedy that with an invitation now since your boss said this contest is open-ended and could go on for a decade.
I don’t see anyone “drilling” SVB at any game. Might beat him, might not, but there won’t be any drilling taking place. Right??

Very good advice. Hard to trust a person who is a "public relations" professional. That sort of person has to tread carefully with what they say. They likely know secrets and behind the scene manipulations that they can't divulge because of the likely negative response from the public.

I would be very distrustful of believing the words of such a person.

Fortunately for the forum the record of comments over various threads is there for anyone to verify themselves.

Newcomers to this topic of 14.1 high runs can easily verify why the promoter is getting mildly rebuked for deliberately snubbing the current world record holder John Schmidt.
As I laid in bed awake way too early...I went to look at one of the enormous is JS runs valid. Wow. I wish I could get that time back. Alas, it's gone.

Anyway, looking forward to today's play. Hoping for a big run!

As I said earlier on "All My Children" we are new at this, have made mistakes and will undoubtably make more.

BTW, if any of you numbers hounds want to pay to get a statistician to the event site, or just compile numbers, that'd be great. The on-site guys are putting in long hours and could probably use more help.

Lou Figueroa
I’m a horrible statistician, I can barely keep an accurate golf score, but if you need someone to sit quietly and drink Zacapa while watching in amazement then I’m your guy.

If the 14.1 is a big block one, like say to 1500 where each day ends at 300 OR a miss if the run takes the score past 300, then I believe drilled would be the operative word because John is way more experienced at running 200+ than Shane is. That was all I meant. In a 150 point game they are very close and I probably would give Shane the edge because of superior cue ball control imo.

Here is one where John ran 366.

I'm late to the show. Where can it be watched?
First: you must place a hex on JS by spilling the blood of an innocent while chanting 6-2-6 and whispering his name in between.

Second: ...
Third: Facebook search Legends of pocket billiards.

Sorry I was just joining the fray. I did wonder aloud where all the drama had gone. Careful what ya wish for : )

And here is a 434..... ooops I misread your post and you were referring to the threads accusing John Schmidt, Predator Cues, The BCA and everyone around John of being criminally fraudulent about the historic 626 ball run that John accomplished. Yeah I understand what you mean there. Imagine if we could have used that time to build something better for pool.

Anyway here is a 434 by John,

Yeah, bad wording on my part. Was talking about the big threads with all the history you mentioned. That is in my rearview mirror, will focus on watching and learning! :)

Anyway here is a 434 by John,

Funny I skimmed through that last night. One of the biggest differences I noticed is that in John's run, the balls didn't spread out as much after the break. Not sure if that's due to the cloth being used, or how he was hitting the break shots. What it did show me, however, is that he's an expert at navigating the rack.

Here is a good video to listen to. Most novice players have never gotten to here some history about straight pool.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGm4TtJQKXE
