Custom Cue, what makes it custom?

I think anything about diameter of the shaft in combination with type or any extra inlays or monogram or anything isn't just 13mm and nothing added. That's what I think when it has a lot of combinations of items that makes it maybe say semi-custom vs. truly custom sitting down with the designer/pool manufacturerand starting from scratch.

You've been on here since dirt was invented and you know exactly so why ask?

Too see answers, now return to the space under missy rock you live under.

You know if you ask question over & over again. Depend on who replied, you might loin something new.

Unless you are like you brain dead.

To me custom means the customer has designed it to their specifications, that’s why I think a lot of companies that call themselves “customs” are not.

Well if party A has XYZ build them Custom Cue to their specifications, and Resell Otto party B is it still Custom.

Use to get Custom suit from guy who came to So. California.

You chose fabric, style, buttons, etc. Tailor did measurements.

Suit fit like they were made for your body, and were in Hong Kong.🤪

Took about 4 weeks from firing until Suit arrived, he also did great dress shirts.

Cold fingers:
Attention vs Focus. Directing the attention once the focus is attained is a reason I don't recommend playing on pot. Well I did have one success on it But. I was so broke I had to pay attention. I worked 12 hours driving cab and made $25. Eight ball for $5 was the game. Probably the best 5 games I have ever put together. But too strong for the Hilltop bar in Tacoma. Oh well double d my income. Semi-pro. Now Hobby ist. Kind of like Ronnie claims now. 😉

Oops wrong thread. Must be the meds. 😉

What is the value of a cue? what makes a cue worth 3K vs <1.5K

Take this cue (Cue 1) and Adam Balabushka GB-BS

Why pay ~3k for cue 1 vs the Adam Balabushka. in my opinion the GB-BS is nicer looking cue. What make cue 1 worth ~3k?
Is this a real question? An ADAM 'bushka is a nice production cue. This one btw is made in China. Play fine. The Runde is a true custom made totally by one person. If you see them side-by-side and look close the workmanship/artistry of a Runde is pretty easy to see. There's a nice Japan made one of these ADAM's on FB for 650 if anyone's looking.

Aesthetics is just one aspect of a cue. When I ordered my cue from Jerry Rauenzahn, I specified weight, balance point, pin type, shaft taper, ferrule material, etc. He nailed every request. IMO, this is what separates a custom from a production cue. You are paying for the expertise and time it takes to have a cue made to your exact specifications.

Ok found an on topic. My cue was custom made for Cole in the late 80s. I have customized it further. Cole customized it as well. He was ahead comfortable in a session and had the cue over his shoulders and hands drapped both sides. Found a weak spot at the joint in the butt. He repaired it and I have reinforced and modified since. I expect it has no market value but it works "and it will kill"(sorry too much Forged in Fire). 😉

i feel some of these "Custom cues" are way over hyped on price...
don't buy then. they sell every one they make. most top makers have waiting lists from 3-15yrs. i have two cues, a production Mezz and a custom Jensen 'bushka. Both get the job done but the Jensen is a handmade work of art where the Mezz is simply a functional tool.

Thank you Comrade Putin. Now, go back to playing with Ukraine.

i really talking about the guys that order 10 cues from custom builder just to resale them. This creates a long wait period and forces people who want s custom cue to buy from these guys. That is what i am talking about. i dont mind paying money for a cue or anything that i want, but i dislike these guys that are using it price up of cues and push out build dates for legit buyers.

There aren't many that do that. It does happen but i don't any guys that order ten at a time. These hi-end shops are small and sometimes only one person to maybe a few building them. Takes time to do it right. Material costs also have gotten high. Want a really nice cue? Contact Cody Cash(PK Cues) in Wichita. He's on FB. He'll be 'one of those guys' pretty soon. Also Chris Nitti in Fl. Fantastic cues and he doesn't that long to get one out.
