Carbon Fiber Shafts should be Banned

Or, learn to play a better safety than simply putting some random ball between the cue ball and the opponent’s object ball.

In my experience, people who don’t like jump cues are poor at using them and not very good at playing safe. I don’t mean that to be disparaging, simply an observation.

I’ve always loved this defense for jump cues. “Play better safeties”. So, I move a cueball 3 rails for a safety, moving roughly 17 feet, but because I give you 4 inches to work with between the CB and the blocker, my safety is marginal? Please. Everyone thinks they’re a god with a jump cue. No….the only reason you can make the jump is because of the material the tip is made from, and nothing else. I still remember the day when we used to find house cues with no tips on them for shooting jump shots.
I'll counter your argument with one wherein simply rolling behind an obstruction with little regard to OB/CB position is somehow a good safety. Here's a tip from a sometimes half assed bottom end short stop. It isn't....

If you have the capability to play the CB after contact, 3 rails, ~17ft and place the CB 4" behind something on repeatedly. Then you really should have the experience the would equate to a different perspective on the game. Perhaps rather the miracle / over your head safety, try just moving the CB a foot or two and freezing it up on something.

As much as I like dislike CF shafts for the reason's the OP mentioned, I'm certainly not butthurt about them. I will also add I don't like playing with a shaft made of new/young wood, all of my players have old wood shafts and that will probably never change. If a professional player who earns a living with his tool prefers a newer tool, good for him. On the flip side, I do chuckle when I see low FR rated players, who will never improve, spend $1,000's on the latest and greatest but hey, that's what marketing is all about ;)

Negative, that's Scarlett Johansen, quite possibly the sexiest woman alive - not sure who I would pick between her and Elizabeth Hurley though and would have to flip a coin :)

LOL, you may have, I know someone has in the past but don't remember who. I hit 52 this year.

If he can jump and hit it, it wasn‘t a good safety.

If they can jump with a full cue that is. A jump cue allows things totally out of the realm of normal cue physics and removes almost all skill from jumping a ball. One thing that we must not confuse is the jump shot and jump cue, the two are not equal in discussions. In my experience people that don't like jump cues feel they make the shot way easier than it was ever intended to be and makes mistakes and safes almost trivial to get out of and not the fact they don't know how to use one, because any C player can be shown how to jump a ball in 30 seconds with one. Blaming the ability to jump out of a safe on a "bad safe" is like blaming someone that was shot for not ducking fast enough, there are some logical and reasonable expectations of a shot to still be good vs freezing to another ball after going several rails and still blocking off kicking angles. One should not need superhuman speed and angle control on a table to counter equipment that a 12 yr old can learn to use in minutes.

yeah no, just cause you can jump doesnt mean its an automatic ball pocketed each time using the jump cue
not even close takes skill and practice like anything

yall might as well not even use a breaking cue and just break with your one player cue
you know cause the tip is completely different and can do things normal tips cant

Agreed. Shitcan break cues and jump cues. Toss 'em all on the fire and the sport improves.

not me, my pure x aint going nowhere

you all also act like kicking is magic
it aint that hard, usually just screws things up for you , id rather give a chance to make the ball and win and a hit and hope to get lucky
