Lots of APA Drama Lately

Clearly we can't tell exactly what happened. But there is a difference between getting someone's attention and demanding someone's attention who has already signaled they want to be left alone. No?
I agree. I’m assuming cry baby walked away and a hand was placed on his shoulder. If things were said first, much different. Still a B&$@$ if that’s the go to move, but much different I agree

Why the title "Lots of APA drama lately"?
This has nothing to do with the APA.
This is infrequent, but it's not exclusive to the APA. Started off sounding like another APA hit job post.

I wouldn't have pursued him for a handshake. I would beat his ass harder on the table the next time.

But under your circumstances, I think I would have reacted a bit different then you. An attitude adjustment would have been called for in this case. Like in this song...

He definitely would have taken a nap before he realized his neck felt suddenly tight if it was me. No punches no damage, but it makes people look, well like the type that try and kick you in the balls I guess lol. As long as you can keep other idiots away for 5-10 seconds while they wake up. I swear the number of people that don’t know what a seizure is amazes me. What’s worse is the number of those who think you do one of 10 incorrect things if it actually was a seizure. It’s 2023 and people believe you can swallow your tongue????? Or that you restrain someone having a seizure???? Clear the area of dangerous items and stay out of the way. Rant over.

This wasnt a seizure, or even the onset of one. This was temper.

But, Putting a leather wallet in their mouth is valid. Some people that have had a severe seizure have bitten off their tongue.

I was referring to bystanders thinking someone unconscious briefly is having a seizure. And no. Show me a doctor that recommends what you just said

the apa has always been drama, hence why i quit it in favor of private leagues. I found that teams of weak players work harder at getting you on technicalities than to beat you by making balls.....at least in my region. I have seen teams claim foul and take points because someone didnt mark the 8 ball when it is teetering in the jaws of the pocket and the player pointed and said 8 ball corner pocket, and of course fights ensued. I know it is the "rule", but it is ridiculous and not for me. None of that trash happens on the independently run league im on.

Having not played APA, I have no idea what foul you are describing

There is definitely a difference...but a kick anywhere is unacceptable.

Runscott may (should have) learned a lesson, as well. Leave mad dogs alone.

And, yes, this is not about the APA.

Glad you left before someone got kicked

You have to mark the pocket in the apa that you are shooting the 8 ball into. People use their pocket chalkers, or some other object which stands out. You are suppose to do it, even if the 8 ball is hanging in the pocket and it is 100% obvious which pocket it is going into. If you dont mark it, even if the 8 ball is blatantly obvious, some teams will call you on it. (at least when i was on the apa years ago, not sure how it is now)

Has anyone experienced playing "under rated" players in a league? Its the worse if they are about to be raised but havent.

The rating system is like a social credit system.

Thank You. Sadly I can tell exactly how that rule . happened. First was likely the call every 8 ball. Too many people who APA league is their greatest achievement, made the 8 in an obviously wrong pocket and they didn’t have a shred of decency even after being called out. If integrity was more than a word people like this cannot spell, no one would have to call a shot. The physical marker my guess is the same thing happened except the liar claimed everyone else in the room misunderstood. Funny thing is the opposite happened to me while warming up with a kid who was also waiting on tournament to start. I admittedly am bad about not calling shots that may not be obvious to someone. I shot, missed, waved at it rolling into the wrong pocket. I went back to my spot and the kid hasn’t moved. He thought I was changing cues and it had not occurred to him I missed. Point is, liars cause rules like that and everyone has fun when nobody is cheating. It’s not NASCAR or the MLB home run race

Putting your hands on somebody in the day and age...I'm surprised he only attempted the family jewels.

And that is the rule in the TAP league that the OP was talking about being happier at, as well...

Touching anyone is taboo: you are violating their personal space. Okay, there are exceptions: you high five your teammates. Not taboo. Touching an angry person on the shoulder to try to get them to talk to you? In a bar? Taboo. What made you think that was okay?

Kicking you in your private parts? They get a pool cue upside their head. Good restraint on your part.

Eh, if nut-kicker wants to be left alone, I think OP should have accommodated him. But what OP did was in no way aggressive or hostile, certainly not warranting physical violence. And nut-kicker need to learn how to take a loss. Dude shouldn't go out in public if he can't handle interaction. I might get frustrated and angry after a tough loss, but never in a way that makes me want to take it out on the other player.

Yeah, the most you would expect is, "Don't ever touch me again, or I'll kick your ass."

but never in a way that makes me want to take it out on the other player.

Someday, you will encounter that player.
