Buffalo's Pro Classic 2025

What’s a typical payout distribution for a calcutta?

Don't know for this event but the payouts are typically about the same percentage distributions as the main pot but only paying half as many places. First place calcutta should pay over $150,000 at a guess so first place is worth over two hundred thousand. Not bad for an outlaw event. Of course the gamblers will have the big piece of the calcutta but I suspect the winning player is still leaving with some heavy cash if he can stay away from some of the nighttime action and the casinos.

Is a "blind" bid for a U-pick?
It’s always the most expensive action, sometimes there’s 1-2-3 blind bids. I don’t recall seeing 4 but it’s possible-but rare.

Any ways yes you get first choice or which ever blind bid you buy ie 2nd or 3rd, so ur laying a big price for the pick. Usually the first 2 are the same price and the 3rd is discounted a bit as is the case here. Kinda depends on the field.

Rum Runner tourney in Vegas always does a Calcutta, as I recall the first 2 are blind there and used to be $5000 each (could be more now-I’m referring to 10-12 years ago). I watched a guy buy the first 2 he paid the $10K. SVB was one of them and can’t recall the other player. He layed such a big price he got his $ back plus just a little-if SVB and his other pic didn’t finish both in top 3 he would have lost $(as I recall, was a bad bet) SVB won.

I did a terrible job of explaining the Rum Runner story, sorry. But the point is, the blind bids are THAT strong.

I just want over the sheet for Buff’s this week with a champion player for the last 30 minutes-we bet on who goes farther between similar priced players. Just friendly sweat bets between us. We decided the best value on the sheet overall considering price (ofc the 3 in the blinds are huge favorites) but value bet is Justin Hall for $7000. For $7000 he’s undervalued and a great bet.

Anyways that’s a bit about Calcutta and how they create fun, action, and are good for this format of pool. Not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s cool. I love them

Fatboy <———would have went for 12¢ on that sheet 😆

Mhet Vergara's tournaments in NYC have recently been going to 6+ blind bids and the field sizes are under 40 people 😂

Wow, I’ve never seen that in a pool Calcutta - thx for the heads up. That’s pretty cool. Fun action!

Also 100% return is solid! Forgot to mention in my long post

(Seen 4 in Backgammon tourneys , but those are small $500)

Best
Fatboy 👍👍

who in the world is jason brown and how did he go for the same as a few elite names like calderon and hall frost etc
Good question... Lol, he's a beast bro! If he was practiced up and had his stamina ready, he definitely has the skills. When he moved to Charleston about 10 yr ago, he brought the entire towns' handicap up a ball or so just by being here and us witnessing and playing against him. The other best thing about Bird is how cool and level headed he is to us bangers, he will work with you and is patient and open with his knowledge.

While he was living here we had/have a private room in town thats dubbed the Birds Nest, has a 4 1/8" pocket diamond, and procut one as well... he stays in the upstate right now but still comes down on occasion... I'll keep the rest to myself lol

Buffalo's on Bloomfield's Pro One Pocket event will resume at noon CDT today.

The TV table feature match will be Tony Chohan vs Fedor Gorst.

The 2nd stream on table 5 will be Shane Van Boening vs Sky Woodword.

Whereas last night they said it would be at 10 am CDT today, and the website even had a countdown to 10 am.

I guess they decided to delay it until the Winner Round 4 matches at noon (Gorst/Chohan) instead of starting with a Loser Round 4 match at 10 am (which would probably run past noon).

The only thing consistent with these is the horrible lack of coherent scheduling. Nothing starts at any advertised time, times are specified in GMT if at all, you have to find random places on the internet between various social platforms to learn anything at all.

filler v frost may be fun but i really hope to see the tony v fedor match on the stream today

first showing of fedor for 3-4 months and i think he's lost a step.. missed shots he never used to miss, positions are off.. cloud be he's rusty. filler and svb has looked the strongest

This event is always wild. Then got races to 5 on the loser's side too which usually ends up causing delays.
