I'm using a Becue Prime II 12.0 shaft and I don't have any reason to try another shaft, it has a super long taper, I haven't measured it but it is visibly noticeable and different than any other shaft I've seen, I have used a 12.4, 11.8 as well and to me the difference is so small in size it's not worth talking about, 1/2 of 1 mm, I didn't really see a big difference in performance due to shaft size, I think it has more to do with the taper than the outside diameter of the shaft, what I love about Becue is they aren't trying to improve on shafts they built in the past but are building shafts that have different types of hit, the Engage is a firm CF hit, the Prime II is the most wood like hit of any CF shaft I've tried and the original Prime shaft has the most flex of any CF shaft on the market, not everyone will like the same type of hit, I have also owned a Defy CF shaft and played with wood shafts for years, the Prime II 12.0 shaft is my favorite shaft of all time.

I (perhaps incorrectly) assume that people here are among the more fanatic of pool players. I suspect in a real world study across all pool players who buy CF that 12.5/12.4 would win even more handily than it is appearing to here.

I find using a CF shaft that any shaft from 11.8mm to 12.5 will play very similar, taper and construction have the most effect on how they play, that's been my experience 😉

What about their 11.0mm? The V4 description on Jacoby's website does not include 11.0mm but the order form does. The description has 11.8, 12.3 and 12.7mm shafts available.

When is V5 coming out?
I can't answer your question regarding the 11.0mm. The smallest diameter shaft that I have used (shot/played with) has been a 12.2mm. I tried a Cuetec Avid 11.75 for a few shots but it felt too small.

As for the V5, that is a question for Jacoby.

If you order a shaft how do you get the correct joint screw thread? The cue I may order a shaft for I got the screw from Billy Stroud. It is a radial but there are different radial screws. I think they were called uniloc radial screws
If I decide to just make the shaft myself I still have the tap I got from Billy.

Stroud actually created the radial pin.

Uniloc is basically a brand name. There are some minor differences, but generally speaking radial, 3/8x8, American Ball and Uniloc Radial are essentially the same thing or at least have been in my limited experience over the last decade or so (6 cues and ~15 shafts from various makers and countries).

when i use a thinner shaft than 13, i just squeeze my fingers a little tighter.

if a quarter m.m. or a half, either way, spoils or hurts your game you have other issues needing correction.
