On behalf of fat guys everywhere, Go Mario!
he's definitely bringing the belly into the break. and he's making balls breaking head on.
2-1 in sets now

filler wins last set 4-0 and takes the match.
FSR on the hill against mario.
That's strong as fk. Filler only had 1 break and run in his win vs Souto.damn, what a comeback from FSR after changing to head on break. he made 5 BNRs to win the last three sets 12-2..
Mario blew his chances to take control of the match. He would probably benefit from losing weight, I speculate that his stamina takes a hit during these lengthy tournaments.

I try to note who is refereeing each match, but sometimes I don't know the names and don't list the refs in my stats thread for that event.Do you keep track of who the referees are when you are keeping stats?
With the hand racking with that Predator rack, and two elite breakers, it makes me wonder if the ref is at least part of the issue. But if he has racked for other players and they are making balls, then it looks like the ref is off the hook!

I don't think the ref who handled the Shaw/SVB match yesterday has been on any of the other matches I have tracked so far in this event.
Well, tight tables would be at least part of the reason. Successful breaks in recent Predator 10-Ball events have generally been somewhere around 50%, plus or minus a bit. Years ago in 10-Ball events, with larger pockets, the percentage tended to be a bit higher. Of course, lots of factors other than pocket size can have an effect.I'm surprised. I remember Shaw saying that the ten ball break is broken but your stats show otherwise. IS it due to the tables being as tight as they are?
I've not watched much of this event due to work, but do the PBS events have a break box rule? Or is it break from anywhere behind the line?

On the same table where the Shaw/SVB match produced a 21% success rate (6 of 28) on Thursday, the E. Kaçi/Duong match produced an 88% (14 of 16) rate on Wednesday.
Sorry, I didn't watch the FSR/He match.what was fran vs mario break success? i know it's ref dependent but imo kaci, mario and fsr have showed that those that have a power break should break head on
I spoke too soon. They are having break problems, at least Pia is.
