This Is What I'm Talking About

Sounds like you need to work on your break 😉

Joss Thor Hammer Break Cue Or Viking Crush Break Cue

BK2 is still one of the better break cues in the market imo.

I generally prefer engineer boots when I play.

    Clear coat options

That means you're not getting good adhesion between layers. You need to test out some oil types to see what works best for your CA type and process, my preferred product was danish oil. CA finishing has been extensively tested/covered by pen turners, quite of bit of information out there for...

    Clear coat options

I'm certainly not as experienced as many on here, but I've done quite a few CA finishes, and you need to wipe with oil between CA coats. I did not like using starbond or any accelerator, loctite worked the best for me. Two to three coats, sand flat, finish coat, then finish sanding. With that...

    Help with ferrule material

I'm happy that you're happy with the KW shafts you currently have, but I'm pretty certain that not one of them said it *couldnt* be done, just that it's not easy to find a blank heavy enough to start with. Fat taper and heavy ferrule can help 🙂. I also prefer my shafts around 4oz, helps to keep...

Benefits of Bridging at the EFFECTIVE PIVOT LENGTH of a Shaft

Nearly all that Dr Dave posts, and many of your posts as well, interest me because you're looking at the game we all love from a different perspective and in a tangible manner. The issue that I have comes from all the bickering about it and low skill level players talking about how to make a...

Benefits of Bridging at the EFFECTIVE PIVOT LENGTH of a Shaft

The people who concern themselves with, and argue about all of these specific concepts simply do not play enough pool. Great video as always!

    Help with ferrule material

If cuemakers with with a proven track record are the best source, then why did you completely disregard them about your 4oz KW shaft? 😉 [Can of worms has been opened] The hardness list that I posted was generated by cuemakers and a person with a hardness tester.

    Help with ferrule material

Here's some testing that was done many years ago, I believe ivory came in around 87 (not in that list). Construction method certainly plays a role in feel, so it's very likely that to you it felt softer, but in general the material is on the harder side...

    Help with ferrule material

LBM is known for its harder hit, not softer. Ageis II is marginally harder than phenolic. To the OP, I believe the closest new product would be juma, which is very strong but won't shrink or swell. Otherwise, schmelke sells tweeten fiber ferrules in black. I've only come across them in white...

Wasn't Earl with Moochi at this time using the DOT shaft?

The CARBON FIBER Shaft With the LEAST Cue Ball DEFLECTION

I am the complete opposite, sound and feel are paramount to me. Of course I want the cue to go where I aim, but I will learn these nuances over time, as one does anytime they change equipment. A certain putter manufacturer always says that sound=feel=confidence, and personally I agree.

The CARBON FIBER Shaft With the LEAST Cue Ball DEFLECTION

I've had both and the Mezz deflects slightly less, but the cynergy feels so much better. Mezz feels like a steel pole, similar to revo.
