The best watching experience I think would be in the round, with a table in the center, seats high enough to see,
pretty girls bringing drinks and snacks for tipsy old men who tip well. I can dream, so it ends up being YouTube for me.
I would suggest starting out with One Pocket and each time you mess something up, practice that one thing until you can't fail
and the ascent to better playing would be faster and the other games be a lot easier.

Exactly. I'm a certified Instructor and honestly if everyone learned to play one pocket,
it teaches you everything you need to learn to do beyond the fundamentals. I start
people playing one pocket early on and it keeps them interested until they've learned
enough to handle 8 and then 9 ball.
I remember playing that version then when I went places some of them would be playing players choice to shoot if you had to kick at a ball and didn't make contact. That was the 9-ball game I grew up with.
