I may end up having to agree with you.
So far my jump tip (White Diamond) does great for jumping but it needs a firmer stroke than is controllable.
It does ok as a breaker for 9 ball but really is weak for 8 ball, so I use my BK3 for that.
I hope Jadens tip is the magic touch that does both...
The Diamond System in Freddy Bentivegna's books for side rail banks is what I use.
I didn't get it from that book. I developed it on my own, but what I do is nearly identical.
The books show a lot of multi rail banks and his take on passover banks is interesting
but those are developed off feel...
I think the shaft has a great deal to do with it.
I have a 14 mm shaft from a jump cue that fits my jump break with a G10 on it.
Then I have another shaft with G10 on it, but on a less than 13 mm shaft.
The thinner shaft outperformed the 14 mm (both maple) shaft by a long shot on the break...
I bought a BK3, good cue but I would rather not carry so many cues in my case.
I would like a good tip to both Jump and Break with on my Break Cue instead.
I had a White Diamond installed, jumps fairly well and has grip on the Cue Ball but
is sort of sad when it comes to power on the break...
I am playing with a solid piece of wood with a 3/8 x 10 pin, an extension from another cue in the middle that has a G10 pin
3/8x 10 and a solid maple shaft from another cue (South East). This combo plays better than anything I've ever used.
Very close to a broomstick with a shaft on it.
The Pool Room business (the way it's being done recently is very big investment).
Then you have so much to manage.
The market gives interest with no work involved.
