The Key to Making Pool Mainstream

Simple Solution: Scholarships. Sponsors for high school kids getting a college education playing pool. Clean up the image of pool. Get rid of the idea of nothing but low lifes playing all day, rid of the dirty pool hall image (which I do love an old run down pool hall with good tables), and get...

    Riddle Me This...

My friend has this cue, but there's not a name on it (or it wore off), or might be under the wrap. It was originally a lacquered wrap, but is worn out. Can anyone tell me what type of cue this is and possibly what it would be worth?

    Does a good cue matter?

Yes, but not a large amount. It's about what you're comfortable with. There's a local A- player in my hometown who loves his Players cue, but has a Moori tip on it. He swears as long as it's straight, it's more about the tip than the cue. However, most people are more comfortable with a higher...

    Tricks ????

I agree completely. 9/10 times you can line up perfect, but the english causes a miss.

    Jump cue questions/recommendations

9ft tables, bar boxes. There are times I could use a longer one. Depends on how you hold your cue for the stroke.

master vs predator vs blue diamond chalk

I'm a fan of the pred. It's a good middle ground. I have a habit of chalking between each shot. Gives me time to look over the table every time and keeps me in my zone. When I don't need to, I can run a good 20 low english shots without chalking. Blue diamond is great, but I rarely need to chalk...

Do any of these places have tournaments? I love action, but I'm more of a tournament player.

    Advice, relocation

Just moved to Port Charlotte, FL. Looking for some tournaments or some good pool halls or action in the area. I've checked out Q's Sports Bar the other night. I know there's the Pure X tour coming through there in April. I've also gone to Veteran's the other night, just a pool hall, not any...

    Anyone know who made...

It's pretty well made. I'll double check the butt cap to see if there is any old marks. She's had it for about 6 years now. What part of Michigan? She got it from a guy named Charles, who had one eye and one fake one.

    Anyone know who made...

Anyone know what kind of cue this is? Pretty sure it's a custom cue and the name is under the wrap. A friend of mine bought it from her instructor a few years ago at a steal of a price, but just trying to find out what kind and maybe a value to it? Not looking to sell it, but she wants to know...

How Would You Play This? 2/20/2014

Why worry about it? High left, or high right. Either way if the cloth is fairly new, there's no scratch. Put the cb in the middle of the table and just make the nine. Be confident in your shots, quit over thinking things.

    Looking for some help.

I'm about to take a road trip, and looking for some pool halls or tournaments. Google search only goes so far... I'm leaving West Michigan on March 10th, and would love to be in Port Charlotte by the 13th or 14th. I'm looking for any great pool halls to check out, or some weekly tournaments on...
