looks like most people are using some light abrasives on their cues. The question now is which one, which I think boils down to how badly your cue is scratched up.

I heard great review on this product but someone ever mention that this is a very harsh product. hmm.. I guess products like such or even the 3m rubbing compound we are removing some layers of the finish to reveal a new coat of shine?

I shall check this out, it says removes grit 1200 and above.
