Energy = Mass x Velocity (squared).
The slightest increase in speed effectively doubles the kinetic energy compared to adding weight. I use a 17oz break cue.
The APA attempts to prevent this is by using two different databases and averages the results. Division play goes into one database. Post season play (Qualifiers, Regional and Nationals) goes into another.
Rumor is that the second database counts double. Something like...
Losing games count towards your winning percentage at your current skill level. You can drop with a losing winning percentage.
You can still lose a match and your winning games (if any) will still count towards your skill level. It is an average of the 10 best wins in the last 20 games...
I use black SS's on 2nd generation 314's. I like medium hardness, so I cut the SS down to about it's last 3-4 layers after shaping and it plays exactly the way I like them. I have done the same with the brown S, but the black SS works for me. I don't like any of my tips as stacked as most layer...
One of the best cue(s) I have found under $100 are the Griffin's. An extra shaft for a Griffin is about $45. I like the firm hit of the 5/16 x 18 Steel-Tite joint. It feels similar to my Schon, which is what I wanted for those heavy drinking nights when the Schon doesn't get out.
I have...
I figured it was both. I am intentionally inflating my innings to win. The results seem mostly the same because many opponents don't mark defense correctly.
Add myself. I rarely play true speed in 8 ball except on an out run.
I play smart, play defense, hang back and when the opportunities are there, I'm out. 8-ball for example, is not about dropping balls on every shot, its about playing smarter than your opponent. It is pointless to drop balls...
Yeah, it just one of those informal things that locals use around here. We distinguish the two by using the terms "call pocket" and "call shot" with "call shot" meaning no slops and shot details.
The rules posted is the rules we play by.
My bad...
Sorry. You posted before I edited mine. What I meant was:
Call Pocket: call ball and pocket: doesn't matter how it gets into the pocket.
Call Shot: Call combos, caroms, rails, pocket etc.... No slops allowed.
I progressed from:
McDermott w/ I3 shaft and stock
Pechauer w/ Z2 and stock
Schön w/ Z2 and 314-2
Nothing wrong with any combination. The Schön has real ivory and overall better materials. Hench its price tag. The Pechauer is a work of art, but is primarily just different combination's of...
