    Offset points or butterfly fix

the method dave is suggesting is an easier and more reliable way to cut your butterfly. it can be done with a band saw but it has a slew of problems associated with it. the main problem is that you are cutting a round blank, it is very hard to keep the cuts even and perpendicular on a bandsaw...

Possible Cue Butt Straightening Device? (Too warped to turn down)

Dave and Brandon great people and so is there staff. glad they will give you a hand. i suspect though that the problem is the "A" joint and will have to be replaced. they are more than capable of fixing this. as to your original idea, you would have to have an understanding of "why" it warped...

    Square cored cues?

just for clarification, having a square core and being cored are 2 different meanings now days. "coring" a cue involves drilling out the center of a piece of the cue and inserting a dowel into it. having a square core involves gluing pieces of wood to the sides of a square blank ( as cueman has...

    Interesting Antique Butterfly Cue

your guess is as good as mine on who made it. if most of it is stock, i would say it is a 1 off from the factory but who knows. the catalin could have come from someone who had old stock and the phenoic insert looks to be newer stock. just not enough info other than the base build is probably 1950's

    Interesting Antique Butterfly Cue

interesting cue...... the catalin collar may indicate wartime but the wrap i think is 1950's possibly Katz because of the veneer colors

    Cutting Points

"How do you make or cut V grooves / pointers into a forearm without an A joint?" it would seem you are describing what Schuler used to do - his "Floating" points. these are milled points much like an inlay. use machinery that designed for inlays. "meaning to say, im using a full 30" maple...

You Can't Run With Men if You Can't Take a Verbal Beatdown

so what is so wrong about asking the president to attend? regardless of politics, its a media draw to the event. other than mark (and well wishers), i haven't seen any straight forward comments other than to criticize the effort. if there is some other idea, put it out.
