    Torrefied Maple - OB Shafts

Torrefied maple is very popular with electric guitars as well. A number of builders are using it for necks as it tends to be more dimensionally stable due to the lower moisture content. I would imagine that cue shafts might be less prone to warpage with torrified maple. I'd be curious how it...

    why

I don't use F&F for purchases for two reasons: 1.) It offers no buyer protection 2.) It's against PayPal's terms and services I've used it plenty for sending money to friends or relatives, but for actual purchases it's cleaner to use goods and services. When I'm selling, I also request buyers...

One Pocket on a 7 ft?

I'm probably going to try the same thing on an 8 footer. I'm getting back into the pool after 25 years. I reclaimed my childhood table but in a year or two I may end up upgrading to a 9 footer if I can make it fit. For now, I can learn on this as best as I can.

    My Brunswick Conversions by CuesDirectly

Those both look really good. I may look into one of his (non-conversion) custom cues as well. Those look nice, too and the prices seem very reasonable.

    Mushroom Tips

I've found that wrapping the ferrule in Kapton tape works great to protected it while sanding the tip flush.

Sale was over a year ago, sorry

I have to say that I really like these tips. I placed my first order with Tom a couple of months ago and I've installed them on a half dozen cues or so. I'll be ordering another batch soon.

    Ripped off?

Yeah, it's always smarter to avoid F&F for business transactions. I would've done the same thing.

    Ripped off?

PayPal has no buyer protection if you use Friends & Family. That's the issue. Technically, even using it for purchasing products is against their terms of service as it bypasses the fees. Most of the time they let it go, but they won't support any claims if you get ripped off.

    what is wrong w/ shipping????

I'd be curious to know if they are offering refunds right now. Most of the shipping services have disclaimers about potential delays.

    what is wrong w/ shipping????

It's a mess right now, particularly if you ship internationally. I shipped something to Italy on March 18th and it just got delivered today. Shipments to Canada have been almost as been. Domestically, I had a package take an extra week to get to me, but at least it got here.

how to remove this weight bolt?

Weller purchased Unger in the 90's, so if he tries to a new Unger, he's getting a Weller. ;-)

    Pool balls set recommendations

I got a set of Aramith Premium and have been happy with them. I let the kids use them, too. Hopefully they won't destroy them, but we'll see.

    Is Pool Truly Dying Globally?

I mean, you can spend that much, but does one really need to spend $500 to get started? It seems the cheap cues today are much better than they were when I was a kid. I bought a couple of Lucky cues for the kids to use as bangers and they seem a lot nicer than the cheap cues did 30 years ago...

    Is Pool Truly Dying Globally?

I think part of the problem is that pool is competing against so many other forms of entertainment, many of which don't require people to leave their house. $15 an hour per table seems pretty reasonable and is probably not too far off from inflation adjusted pricing from my youth. But there's...
