Taom Tip I couldn't be happier with the Taom Tip I put on my break stick. It not only breaks hard and doesn't lose shape, but I'm also able to jump full cue with it. May come in handy for you in APA since they won't let you break down a stick to jump.

For what it's worth, we ended up going to The Smokin Cue and had a really good time. The tables were in great shape. I would definitely go back, I was impressed.

I put a Taom on my Joss Thor Hammer and I love it. Not only does it break well, but as an added bonus I can jump full cue with it. I would definitely recommend.

I would say that the only motivation to have the tournament is money. When you consider how much money is made by the APA putting on the tournament, to not offer a payout just seems wrong.

I have never understood the allure of the APA US Amateur Championship. Everybody who enters pays $40 or $50 to qualify, and the lucky person to win the qualifier might (that's a big might) receive travel assistance to go to Florida to play in a tournament where there is a whopping $0 payout.
