Thank you to everyone you have all given me hope I'm not going to give up I'm going to start going to a public pool hall and get help but I see a lot of things I can do at home now. I had a session this afternoon in my basement it's not that I haven't been able to place the ball at all it's just...
Your post is the one I like the best I thought there was something wrong with my brain it's good to see someone else struggling I'm sure you're still better than I am!

I watched the video. I can work on that. Is all my aiming techniques going to be a waste now that you have to hit the cue ball differently? I am ready to move to The second level, this is a great way to start, thanks again!

I don't want to wear out my welcome here I appreciate you guys, as you were learning this game did you feel like pocketing the balls and figuring out all the angles was harder than maneuvering the cue ball for the next spot or is maneuvering the cue ball harder than shooting the ball. I don't...
LOL my five ball is a burnt orange.
P.S. I'm making some really tight shots and I cannot imagine some of the shots I'm able to make from an 8-ft table that if I put anything on the ball at all it wouldn't go in the pocket.

I'm in Wichita Kansas. I've spent so much time learning how to get the angles correct that I haven't done much with the follow-through. I'm 67 and I've only played for 3 years in my basement. It hasn't been easy but I have not given up I've got the angles of the shots down very well I just have...
Good evening everyone. I've been working a long time trying to get to where I feel comfortable playing in tournaments. I've really got a handle on the shots even some very difficult ones, I've become pretty good. I'm playing on an 8-ft table. My only problem is I'm having a very difficult time...
I've got an 8-ft Brunswick I've had since 1985. I'm really happy with my choice even though I've got two sides that when the ball is within 2 in of the rail I have to use the short stick. The benefit of learning to use the short stick is that I'm just as good with a short stick as I am the...
I got a set with my new pool table about 1985 and they were Brunswick. They seem to be very good pool balls do you think they were expensive or did Brunswick make a cheap set?

Everyday I think about that but here's my problem. I'm so anal I would probably have to work on the thing everyday and I know it would drive me crazy. I know I wouldn't be able to afford a new one it's so an old one would have many issues. Boy as a kid in the sixties and seventies all my money...
I built this house in 1985. That is when we put a new Brunswick 8' table in. The basement has been a work in progress forever. We have enough variety for all the grandkids to play. I'm really liking my pool table more and more as I age gracefully!!

Thanks guys I'm really enjoying the journey. The game is easy unless you want to be good and I found it to be very difficult.

Hello I bought my Brunswick pool table in 1985 and never played on it till three years ago. I bought it for family and guests and three years ago I decided I was going to learn the game or get rid of it. Well three years later I realized how hard a journey it was. I'm 67 years old and have...
