Rail Mounting Holes Not Lineing Up

What kind of drill bit would you suggest using to drill through the slate? I have a number of different drills and types of drill bits, including spade bits and hole saw sets.

Rail Mounting Holes Not Lineing Up

Sorry for the slow reply. I have been having trouble with my internet connection because of the snow. Yes the slate does have a wood frame on the bottom. Here are some pictures that may help show what I am talking about. This is the table I have. Only end rails have bolts in them. Side...

Rail Mounting Holes Not Lineing Up

Well, it was Christmas eve and I was hard at work to get the pool table finished assembled. However when I was in the homestretch, I came across a problem. The slate for my table isn't the original slate for the table. I don't know why I didn't think about it, but the rail mounting holes don't...

Can't Find Beeswax - Looking For Next Best Sealer

Looked to be a plaster of sort or maybe Bondo. White in color, possibly slightly yellowish. Wasn't beeswax though. Not exactly sure because the table was acquired used. The gouges I was talking about aren't on the seams. They are in the middle of the slate, not very deep, but I can feel them...

Can't Find Beeswax - Looking For Next Best Sealer

Oh, I thought I herd Bondo was much more difficult to remove, but I guess I herd wrong. I think it was people complaining about Bondo being stuck in the slate screw holes, but I think my rails cover my holes, so I don't need to fill them. And yeah, it is an older table and 2 of the slabs have a...

Can't Find Beeswax - Looking For Next Best Sealer

Unfortunately I didn't have time to look anywhere today when I went out. I have checked all the local hardware stores. And despite Micheal's telling me that they don't carry it, I did find some there, although they want $28 just for 1lb. Normally I'd go for it, but money is tight this month with...

Can't Find Beeswax - Looking For Next Best Sealer

I have been looking around for beeswax for the last couple weeks as I have been slowly installing my table, only to find none. There are a couple last places I can check today, but the chances of them having it are very slim. The local pool table installers only supply plaster of paris. What is...

Setting Up Table - Have Some Questions

The dilemma I was facing with the cloth is that I got it with the snooker table for free. However, there is a cigarette burn hole in the cloth, so it is no longer good for the snooker table, but it should still work on my pool table. Even if it's not the best, I really don't care right now. If I...

Setting Up Table - Have Some Questions

The table is a Dufferin table. Nothing too special about it. As I said, it's just temporary. I may just put it up for sale... I like it less and less every day.

Setting Up Table - Have Some Questions

The cloth logo says Hainsworth Toptable Made in England. And the table is a 9 x 4 1/2 pool table. Cloth is from a 12 x 6 snooker of same make.

Setting Up Table - Have Some Questions

Well it looks like the lowest this table will go is 32 3/4". So I guess that means the first question doesn't really matter.

Setting Up Table - Have Some Questions

I am setting up my table right now and have a few questions. First of all, the table is going to be semi temporary. I want to get a much nicer table, but this one is going to have to do for a couple years. What is a good height for the playing surface? BCA regulations say 29 1/4" - 31". That's...

    Premade or Custom Cue?

Well... I found my cue. A new Nick Varner World Championship series. WC 105-1 It was priced as $450 but he gave me a good deal because he liked me, so I got it for $250. I love the feel of it and instantly fell in love with it. Thank you evoryone for your help and advice.
