pool balls wider at the numbers- ?

I suspect they still do it that way, except that they use a CNC mill with an engraving mill bit. By varying the depth of cut they can get different width of cut, up to a sharp point. The older font for numbers are a combination of straight lines and circle arcs. Thank you kindly.

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

You missed my point. Thank you kindly.

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

Not changing your playing style to match the table sounds like a good way to lose. But I don't play one-pocket. Thank you kindly.

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

Table toughness can not be measured under these circumstances. All balls will be pocketed. Thank you kindly.

    Jayson Shaw World Record video

I wouldn't have to pay shipping if it was available for more than 3 days either. I might buy, if that was an option. I don't have time to watch it even once in 3 days. Thank you kindly.

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

Is there any evidence at all? Either way? Thank you kindly.

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

Earlier in this thread I gave what I thought might be good starts for table size weights based on the longest shot possible. Dave preferred his empirically determined weights. Perhaps you can influence him by making some empirical tests. Dave has changed the weighting many times in the...

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

The math does not work out that way. The fact that pockets have more variables (3) does NOT mean that they are getting 3 times the WEIGHT. There is no universal unit for comparing table length with pocket angle. So each is given a weight to reflect the degree to which they affect table...

Why do people suck so bad at taking pictures of pool cues?

Disagree with most of all of that second paragraph. Thank you kindly.

Templates vs usual wooden racks and break balls

Yes. I usually place the balls on the table in roughly the right place, and place the triangle over them. While true, a lot of different methods are currently used, and I find it odd that that one didn't make it in the marketplace of ideas. Thank you kindly.

Templates vs usual wooden racks and break balls

I have a wood rack that is angled, and designed to go over the balls and push them together. It works well for me, but I had to cut down the outer edges to prevent it from being way too large and interfering with 14.1 racking. Can't find anyone selling them now. Anyone else remember those, or...

Templates vs usual wooden racks and break balls

No, Bob Jewett thinks that they are better than something he calls "unplayable". Thank you kindly.

Templates vs usual wooden racks and break balls

Are we trying to make it so that tough leaves of the 15th ball are made easier? I would think that was the shooter's problem. Thank you kindly.

    Rule Question

Took some careful examination, but I think it works. The trickiest part was the "15th below the head string but interfering with head spot" not being explicitly called out, but thinking it over, it works. I would have switched the order of the 2nd and 3rd columns. Specific before default...

Templates vs usual wooden racks and break balls

I am imagining the probable English (watching too many snooker matches) solution to this would be to mark the last object ball, re-rack, and then replace the OB. Is there a reason that this wouldn't be a better solution (other than tradition, of course)? It would remove the variable of...
