Worst Pro Match Meltdown You Seen

I actually spoke to Roberto about that a few years afterwards when he visited a poolhall I used to play at. He was still depressed about it. He lost out on huge sum of money in sponsorship deals (or something like that, forget exactly what he said) because of that loss. The crowd really did...

Sad day in the pool world - Mika Immonen 1972 * 2025

Really sad to hear this! I met him briefly and he was really kind. RIP to one of the greatest ever.

Predator Roadline cue making a rattling noise. Doesn’t have a weight bolt in it.

Making a new thread for visibility. Bought this cue a few years ago. It was mentioned that it was most likely a loose weight bolt but I looked inside and my cue doesn’t have one. The cue I bought is light, I think 18.5oz or something close to that. Not sure if I had it removed at some point or...

Was it a mistake to get a unilock playing cue? It keeps making a rattling noise whenever there is vibration.

I managed to find the type of flashlight that allows me to see in there. At the end I see something that I think is metallic, but it doesn’t have any notches for a tool to latch onto. It appears to be flat. Does this mean my cue came without a weight bolt? It’s one of the lighter ones. I think...

I unscrewed the bumper but for some reason I don’t see a weight bolt. It’s just empty space. Also I have no idea why my reply here is in bold lol.

Was it a mistake to get a unilock playing cue? It keeps making a rattling noise whenever there is vibration.

I bought a Predator Roadline with a Revo shaft and unilock joint about five years ago. Over the last year it started to make a rattling noise occasionally after off-center hits. Now it does that very frequently, and recently it got to the point that it does it regardless of where the cue ball is...

SVB’s wrist movement during his stroke and his changes over the years

I noticed that years ago Shane’s stroke used to look a bit different than it does today. He’s always had that habit of turning his wrist a bit on the final stroke, I think as compensation because he would let his right elbow move slightly sideways away from his body, but it seems like the bent...

Playing Off the Rail with Tony Annigoni

It was a great book. I believe the writer embellished a bit and made a few things up. A long time ago I brought up the book to Ernesto Dominguez mentioning that he was in it, and he smiled and said “that guy never beat me”. I later heard that a few other notable players in the book claimed what...

    What killed the slip stroke?

Wow I had no idea. Interesting, thanks. Edit: I just realized, this is not a slip stroke. This is a stroke slip. I remember someone making this differentiation.

    What killed the slip stroke?

I think he mentioned on a podcast that he would get really sweaty hands.

    What killed the slip stroke?

Yea I did notice that. They didn’t get down low over the shot either. Some stood nearly straight up in their stance.

    What killed the slip stroke?

Was the slip stroke used as a necessity for some because of that? I wasn’t entirely sure what it was for. I’ve tried it and found it easy enough to do but couldn’t understand what advantage it offered.

    What killed the slip stroke?

Seems like it wasn’t uncommon during the era of Mosconi and a bit beyond that. I don’t know of any greats from later generations using it. My knowledge is of course limited to what I’ve been able to gather from videos I’ve seen. In modern generations I can’t think of a single player using it...
