here's the final product! 5/16 x 18 pin and matching collar work on both the butt and shaft. ended up spending a little more than planned but robin did some good work. had the collar on the meucci shaft redone to match the new collar on the butt, had some small cracks in the butt permanently...

yeah, i'm excited. my dufferin has been out of commission for years now. i'll post up some pictures once the job is done...

update: robin is working on my cue as we speak. he's simply replacing the insert with a 5/16 x 18 pin. i happen to have two extra meucci shafts which i will use on the dufferin butt. it's a cheap and easy fix and will get my cue back in action!

riiiight. well, i'm not going to visit the mall in canada but i was looking at this website before. the question is how can i tell if any of these will fit? what's the proper way to take measurements?

haha... yes, buying a new cue would be cheaper and easier! i guess i'm just trying to retain the cue for it's sentimental value. as mentioned, i've been shooting with it for over ten years. would be nice if it was as simple as buying a new shaft, but sounds like it might be more work than it's...

cheers! thanks for the info/suggestions. i was using this cue as a break stick, hence the cracked shaft. i have a habit of breaking break sticks[pun intended!]. if i were to replace the pin and insert i'd like something that leans toward durability. any suggestions in that matter?

yeah, the pin is in the shaft not the butt. the cue is 10+ years old i don't know what kind of pins dufferins have these days. although i did see some for sale online that looked similar but i don't know how to measure correctly in order to tell which one might fit. SF is very short on cue...
