I've been open 20 yrs, and tried a snooker table twice. Never seemed to really work, plus took up more space. I've had requests for a 3 cushion table, but it's also a foot longer, so will probably not go down that road.

Pool players are not used to spending the money that golfers are. I recently had a 70 monthly fee (only when tables are free) and did not require any purchase. I got a few interested players but surprisingly, not overwhelmed with interest.

It's part of doing business. I give everyone water if they want it. Usually they are with people who will buy food or drink. And usually they tip the waitress or bartender. Just part of good will. On other occasions they may surprise you and order something.
