What mini lathe did you start with?

If I just wanted to install new cue tips for people, what lathe would y'all suggest? I don't want to make cues, just help out people in our league that can't find someone to install new tips. Thanks in advance for any advice.

My friend is an 81 yr old man who has been playing about 2 years. He'll never be a high level player, but would like to put an inexpensive pool table at his house. He is looking at the Brunswick Allenton or something in the price range. Any thoughts from the group???

Looking for a table mechanic to work on a Diamond red label 8'os. Needs new cloth, rails, shim pockets, and leveled. Suggestions please. No mechanics in the directory are near my area.

What year did the original Diamond tables (8'OS) switch from Superspeed to the Black cushions? The table I just bought has Superspeed on it. I've called and messages Diamond 3 times with the serial number and they have yet to let me know when it was built. Maybe this will give me an idea of age.

How difficult is it to dis-ass'y and then re-ass'y the rails on a red label diamond table? I don't see any ass'y instructions on the web for diamonds.
