I am going to start practicing putting ferrules on. I was wondering which are most commonly used and for what reasons? Capped? Non-capped? Threaded? Ivorine vs fibre vs PVC. And such... Your input is greatly appreciated!!

Id like to know what are some of the techniques people are using for burnishing the tip. Ive always just used some water and a piece of leather to burnish my tips. I've tried Porper's tip burnishing liquid but didnt like that it dyed the tip. The water seems to work fine, but I want to achieve...

If the glue side is embossed and you are suppose to sand the glue side to a flat even surface, does that mean i have to sand the bottom of the tip until the logo is no...
A quick question....
Tips all have a "glue side" usually embossed with its logo or name. My question is does it really make a difference to use this side? If you must sand and prep before gluing, doesnt that usually make it almost the same surface as the "tip" side?
I personally use Everest tips. At the local pool hall most players do not want to spend the money for an Everest, but they want to try a layered tip. Has anyone used/played with the Superpro layered tip. Any input is appreciated....
I think Buck Horn goes good with the right wood...here is my cue with buck horn ferrules and buttcap....what do you think? i know...i should have cleaned them up before i post....lol
ive seen the gorrilla glue and there were a couple types. ive read about "gorrilla white" is that the glue that says it dries white? or in the white bottle?
I am going to start re-tipping my own cues for my own interest. I will probably keep my main shooting shaft tip professionally installed until i feel comfortable on my installation, not wanting the tip to fly off...which Ive seen many times. I plan to also re-tip players at the local pool hall...
