Just remember that some brands have an extra pad at the top of the ferrule(namely Predator and Mezz) so don't take that off. Sometimes a small slip of the mind and there goes the pad.

Mezz's proprietary 5/16x14 piloted is called United Joint. Their flat faced 3/8x9 is called Wavy Joint.

I'm curious and impressed as to how you guys are identifying a material based on the way it cuts. What are the parameters the materials are being cut at? Spindle speed, feed rate and insert type play a huge part in this ID-ing.
