Seeing the contact point on the object ball.

Sorry to have been disruptive by asking such an elementary question. Recently, at age 82, I seem to miss balls that I never used to miss. Can't figure out why. I simply was looking for a refresher course to play at an enjoyable level that I once was able to. So, yes, you reply was...

Seeing the contact point on the object ball.

Thanks for your reply. All the replies have helped in understanding what I need to do. Of course, that means more time on the table but now, with more information.

Seeing the contact point on the object ball.

Thanks for your reply. Now I have a better idea of what I need to do. With more practice I may develop the "feel" you mentioned. I can relate to what you pointed out.

Seeing the contact point on the object ball.

Thanks for your reply Mr. Jewett. It makes sense, particularly when it is stated by a respected authority. I knew the CB replaces the ghost ball but I have difficulty aiming at an empty space. Sorry for my simple question.

Seeing the contact point on the object ball.

My question is once you are confident of OB contact point, do you shoot the CB with center ball aiming the cue tip directly at the contact point or aim the edge/contact point on the CB at the contact point? Elementary or intuitive I'm sure to good players.

    Constant Tip Shaping is annoying!

Mr Jewett, there are many people on this forum who ridicule, or call those who ask questions, names and/or question their intelligence. I am surprised that a person of your qualifications would be one of them. Further along in this article, you asked a poster the question "what good did it...

    Bobby Pickle Report

A tiny minute # of people know the correct details. Bobby is a genuinely nice guy who made poor and risky decisions. When released he will have paid his debt and I hope he makes only wise decisions for the remainder of his life.

    Yes, that is correct.

    The Impossible One Railer

Vernon and I was at a local room and he was showing me some of his shots. This was about a year before his physically disabling stroke, which was long after his prime years of hustling. I would place the balls and he would shoot them. It's interesting to hear all the analysis of what he was...

    Bankers --- Spaeth or Bugs?

Of course, we will never have an answer to "who was the best in their prime" in anything. That's what keeps the subject alive.....and well. Maybe on a given day, everyone is right when picking their choice. However, I worked doing research for two years to get Vernon Elliott on the ballot for...

    Rhino CF shaft... Yes/No

I have been very happy with my Rhino shaft and their customer service too. Like most, I suppose, that buy such things, I have several of the competitive brands, and truthfully, I have found each company's product and customer service at a parity. If you read customer reviews of any highly...

    T-Rex updates

My opinion is, Shane really doesn't like one pocket, for whatever reason. I assume this by his table presence in one pocket vs playing 8 ball or 9 ball and by the velocity he shoots some shots. Because of his incredible ball pocketing ability, he will be a title contender at any of the games...

Joint fit of aftermarket carbon fiber shaft.

    Exactly!

Joint fit of aftermarket carbon fiber shaft.

If I'm not mistaken, Rhino's advertisement says their shaft joint size is 21.5. Measure the butt size of your cues and only put it on the ones that measure 21.5. Will make absolutely no difference in how you play but when people check how it nice the shaft and butt fit together you can't help...

    The Impossible One Railer

Vernon was a friend of mine. Shortly before his stroke he would have me place the object ball on the cushion for his "impossible" cross side bank. There was two other "impossible" bank shots he showed me that he won a lot of money betting he could make them. He told me of the time he won $500...
