    Bad Blood. SVB and Dennis

Dennis calls foul on himself I was at the DCC a couple of years ago, watching Dennis playing someone, I don't remember who. Dennis was at the table and the other player was not even watching. Dennis made a foul and called it on himself, knowing the other player was not paying attention. That...

his weakness is not being honest

Called foul on himself In the Derby City Classic three years ago, I saw Orcollo foul while playing one pocket. His opponent, I think it may have been Appleton, was not even watching the table. Orcollo called the foul on himself. I thought, "What a rarity, an honest pool player".

    facing problem, i think

Shaft taper It could be that the shafts are not tapered the same as the butt. This will cause the cue to roll unevenly on a table. The cue can be straight and still not roll evenly on a table. Look down the cue from the tip to the butt.

    Anyone Remember Vernon Miller

I'm from Hamlet, NC which is five miles from Rockingham. Vernon would come over to Hamlet to our pool room hustling. He was a year or two older than me. He would come in to the room and ask everyone in there if they wanted to play for a quarter. He was better than everyone there. There was a boy...

Contact lens - playing with near and far lens?

Contact lens I tried using one contact for distance and one for up close. Couldn't see good either way. Switched to just distance lenses and reading glasses. That worked for me. Used just the distance lenses for pool. About eight years ago I had lasik surgery. It has corrected the distance...

    Portland Don

I don't remember his last name. I saw him play a match against Bob Ogburn about 1975 or 1976 for $500. I had actually played him some one pocket and broke even. I don't think he was seriously trying when he was playing me. He won the match against Bob. His cue ball would look like it was hit too...

Lasik. How old is too old?

Not too old I had lasik surgery about 6 years ago at age 63. It has worked great for me. I can see 20/17. Better than when I was young. I can think of no reason not to do it, other than the cost. But now I don't have to buy contacts and the stuff that goes with it.

    Waterlox

Does anyone has any experience using 'Waterlox' as a finish on their cues?

    lasix questions.

Lasik worked for me I had lasik done about six years ago, and I now can see 20/17 using both eyes. Each eye individually is 20/20 or better. I am also right eye dominant. If you are right handed and right eye dominant, you will find that you hardly use your left eye when playing pool. I do...

what do you think of tan chalk?

I used to have a table at home and I always had beige carpet. The tan chalk was a real asset in keeping the carpet looking good. It won't discolor the carpet. The tan that comes off on the table is certainly no more distracting than white powder. It being a distraction was something I never ever...

I am months away from getting lasik...please share your experiences!

Lasik I wore contacts for years and could see 20/15 with them for distance. I was hesitant to get lasik because I was afraid I wouldn't see as well. But I finally had it done about five years ago. I can see 20/15 with my lasik and am very happy with the result. The only reason I can see for...
