    Type of bridge

Total novice here who assembled a old table in my old house. It is a 8 footer so there are some shots I just cant reach being a short fat guy. What type of bridge does everyone prefer? This one? https://monsterbreakbilliard.com/economy-aluminum-bridge-head/ I see so many different types. I kinda...

Got the cloth on and starting on the rails. Lord who gave the last guy a bucket of nails? Hard to get out without messing up the wood. Also did brunswick use the rail bumpers from kings?

Cloth came in. I picked it up from monsterbreakbillards. Nice guy. I talked to him at length about the table and he gave me some good ideas. Fast shipping too, I highly recommend. Before I proceed any further we are repainting the hideous colors. Not sure what the last owner was thinking we...

Still working on the table. Just about ready to install the cloth once it comes in. At the same time I am stripping the paint from the room and I and going to repaint. The green and orange is hideous. I am lucky to have friends. 3 ladies are working their tails off with a promise of a bbq party...

    Table felt color

As I am assembling my antique brunswick madison I am getting to the choice of felt. I have found the Championship Mercury Ultra and that looks like a good choice. But what color? I know green is traditional but what preference do y'all have? I will have to live with it for a long while.

Getting started filling the seams and holes. I have heard of guys using bondo but I am worried it would be to hard to remove later. I found this at the local Loews. Started with a small area to check it out.

Those look like what I am looking for. What weight and length should I use? I am sure it is a matter of preference but I need something that is forgiving of a amateur.

    cue for a novice

A little background. I have played a bit in various pool halls and I am ok. In other words cannon fodder. Lol. I am putting a very old table together in my even older house and need to get a couple of house cues. And maybe a ok one for around $100 bucks. When I search for cues there are a...

    New Here? - Introduce Yourself

Howdy from Texas! I picked up a very old table that I am putting together in the parlor of my old house. I used to play at various pool halls but got out of the groove for a while. Now I have no excuse! Plus I make my own beer. I may never leave home again....

Well I did learn something yesterday. Dont trust cheal levels. I was chasing my tail around with the $15 junker. I bought a semi decent 78 inch level and wait a minute, The table was real close the whole time.

Well I am satisfied in the appearance. Of course Im easy lol. So I am starting assembly. The house is 130 years old and is pier and beam construction. So I put down a sheet of 3/4 plywood to distribute the weight. Fun part. Can I level the table and make it stay that way. Lol. I need to do more...

Have you cut back on visitors playing with you on your home table?

I understand how all of you feel and agree. I only have 1 or 2 close friends over and we keep our distance and take our temperature regularly. I honestly dont have my table done yet so I dont have that worry. However, I am in the residential Hvac business and visit several homes a day. We wear...

Thanks Ssonerai, I realize I am not doing a professional job. At 61 and more projects than any one can finish in a lifetime what I want to do is get the table back up and going. Hopefully we can say it has character. At this point I just wanted to stabilize the veneer so it wont break off any...
