the only thing I'd change is to enforce a rule that players from the same group cannot meet each other until the last 8 or so. I also don't understand why seeds 3 and 4 are not in the centre of the draw. But, apart from that I like the system.

I like it! My table works out at 1.24! pretty tough. It's noticeable when trying to make long runs in 14-1. making 100 balls on my table feels like making 500 balls at the club!

IMO the best format is 100% seeded double knockout all the way, like US Open. But seeding should be fair, based upon world ranking for a world event.
