    Chinese knockoff shaft?

Well actually, that’s just like your opinion,, man. Revo’s play great. They don’t warp, scratch or dent, and they clean with a damp cloth. They’re also consistent from shaft to shaft. I love playing with wood shafts too, but I there’s no way I’m going to deny the facts so obviously starring me...

The story behind the Jackot cues

I think it may help if one of the “makers” of the jackpot cue stepped in and gave the specs on the cue. Maybe specified how the construction of the cue is different from a standard shmelke? I mean, for 500 there’s a lot left to be desired. Jovi cues makes SW replicas for the Taiwanese market...

    Greg Stevens Stories Please

What was Gregs reasoning for staying up so long? He had to have known he’s going to play worse after having been up for 3 days. I’ve lived a “fun” life and can honestly say that even with “help”, playing pool for 3 days with no sleep is a difficult endeavor. His mental stamina must’ve been...

Grip for a pool cue butt

Mark Wilson said hundreds of players have quit playing pool entirely behind trying to emulate Django’s stroke. So yah, just don’t do it. Emulate a snooker players stance and stroke, just enjoy watching the Filipinos

    Are the Ko brothers Ambi-ocular?

While learning how to shoot opposite handed, and knowing how dominant eye aiming works, I’ve found that when shooting with my dominant hand, I prefer aiming with my left eye to cut balls to the right, and my right eye to cut balls to the left; all while centering my chin directly above the cue...

Ronnie Allen Gaff Shaft mystery question

Just saw a video on Roy’s Basement FB page of Filler playing some guy one handed in 8-ball, with other guy taking 4-6 balls off. I doubt he’s practiced much because he plays about as well 1 handed as I do. Most people I see trying this can’t shoot unless they rest the cue on the rail. I played...

    The best non-pro player ever?

I don’t know that Id agree with the definition of a professional pool player being “one who makes the majority of their money playing pool; or someone who gambles every time they play pool”. I definitely think there’s a line that has to be crossed in order to be of a professional stature/skill...

Ronnie Allen Gaff Shaft mystery question

Was he playing with just one hand or did he use his bridge hand too? I’ve never seen a one handed match so it’s hard to comprehend how some shots could be played well in one hole. Like being frozen on a ball in the stack and having to kick or play a touchy shot. Seems incredibly hard, I can see...

    Gambling

What about Calcutta? That’s not technically betting on the rail, but isn’t necessarily by competitors. Is that legal where you are? Or anywhere? I’ve always wondered about that..

    Gambling

For some reason it seems I’ve had a different experience with gambling than most in this thread. Gambling in pool, for me, has always been a huge part of the game. Almost as much as the game itself. I live in the buckle of the Bible Belt (MS) and there’s normally always a few people matched up...

    JB Case too deep

I mean for me, I frequently ride a motorcycle with my case on my back. So if I get hit by a car I’d like to not have to worry about an extra $2500 sliding down the street in pieces. $200 is a minimal cost for “piece of mind”. Are there any other cases that are that protective for such a low price?
