Going to try CF, any suggestions?

That's also why I tell people to get Rhino shafts from Amazon. It's a little more expensive that way but much easier to return if there are issues.

Is this for real? Keith McCready Schon from the Color of Money?

    eBay as well: https://www.ebay.com/itm/357937238631?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&customid=link&campid=5335988529&toolid=20001&mkevt=1

    Recent purchase

I'd like to see a better picture of the veneers.

    What joint pin?

I can't imagine that McDermott would use a largely proprietary Cuetec thread. Has any one tried a 3/8x10 shaft or jp on it?

    Leather wrap

All of the stacked leather cues (3) I have feel close to wrapless. The caveat to that is that I've never had one done myself only bought later so can't speak on if there are different options available. I've got a Lucasi that had one of their shitty rubber wraps that is falling apart so I...

Going to try CF, any suggestions?

That's a good point. Cheap shafts you should probably consider throwaway if you don't have a cue repair person near you. That also brings up a consideration. I don't know if it is still a problem, but the ferrule material in the Cynergy shafts is/was pretty soft. Not a big deal, but if you...

Going to try CF, any suggestions?

So, you will want to stay away from Revos for sure. My suggestion would be still Cynergy or Meucci. One possible caveat is that the ferrule is larger on the Meucci: https://www.meuccicues.com/products/carbon-pro Depending on what wood shaft you have now, that might not be an issue, but it's...

Going to try CF, any suggestions?

For something that plays closer to wood, I'd suggest either Meucci or Cynergy. I have both as well as a bunch of others. McDermott third gen Defy would also be a good choice, but I don't have one of those. Pretty sure I've got most of the rest of the major manufacturers except Jacoby and...

Looking for a tip guy in Austin

I can ask around to see if there are other cue repair folks South., but the only one I know is James Hanshew. Not sure if he's doing cue work at the moment. Up North at Skinny Bob's, there's David Wimer. He is putting a tip on and reconditioning a 314-2 shaft for me at the moment.

    Cue repair in Austin

Billiard Factory at the Hill Country Galleria is probably the closest. Austin Billiards is at Research and Anderson Mill.

4-6 point cues with colored veneers and linen wraps are my favorite

I'd hazard a guess that it's both the type of tooling used and there's probably less chance of the points being uneven when the points aren't as sharp. Even if I'm completely wrong, it would probably be a good discussion on Ask the Cuemaker.

    Predator launched a new site

All of this probably means that they are going to come out with "special/limited" sneakies with the same woods they used like 10 years ago. I bet they will also be $1200 plus. I say this as a Revo fanboy.
