The Predator balls, supposedly made by Aramith, stay cleaner than Aramith balls. The logo makes it slightly harder to identify balls, but the color scheme is the best among my four sets of balls. I use them more than any other.
You might be right, but more people used to watch pool in the US and viewership in some places overseas seems to be pretty good. In any case, I am happy to subscribe to WNT TV and Billiards Digest. Doesn't cost me much to support the game.
I would be curious to know how sjm rates Filler's performance in the UK Open final. Might be the best I've ever seen from him in a big WNT or Predator event in the final stages of a tourney. His two matches on the final day were dominating.
I thought it was a great event.
I don't know the details either, but I work under the assumption that if something was easy, it would have been done by now. Not true in government and not always true in the private sector, but for-profit companies tend to find a way.
Seems to me MR concluded this wasn't a viable option.
Lack...
I am not sure Khalid is better than Appleton, and in any case, Fedor should have beaten him. Fedor was also up 9-4 vs Capito in a race to 10. Fedor is the reason Fedor lost. Arriving late is on him.
Still, I am surprised Filler won't agree to a head to head with Fedor in 10 ball.
"Free" is great, but it's also a big reason why pool is poor sport. Free is only an excellent business strategy if you draw enough eyeballs to entice advertisers. Predator streams get plenty of views, but few if any advertisers. A subscription to MR is cheap. I'd pay a Predator subscription...
I am not wedded to traditional colors - I can adjust to any color scheme quickly enough.
I want a high-end set in which I can distinguish all the colors easily on my table. Not so easy given the lighting in my area.
So far no set has been perfect. Predator comes closest, but I dislike the...
That's one view. It's probably not mine. I prefer winner break, but not dead set on it. In any case, this debate has gone on a long time. No need to rehash here. Players know the rules and have to abide by them.
Laziness or some such. We can refer to Wojciech Szewczyk as Woj. Fine with me!
I had a bad feeling about the final being one-sided because Woj gets intimidated by Filler. Thinks he has to play perfect to win - which he does - but then makes uncharacteristic mistakes trying to be perfect...
I get it, Bob, but breaking is a skill. I am sure you agree. Smash and pray is the opposite.
IMO the sport should reward players who master the break. They are showing their skills and dedication. I want less random luck determining the winners. I want to see dominance by dominant players...
I don’t understand the complaints about pocketing the one on the break. The breaker won the prior game. The breaker should have some advantage. Wojo screwed up early and late. That’s why he lost.
I immediately thought Wojo would lose when he scratched on a safety in game 1 or 2. Terrible and avoidable mistake early on when he could least afford it. He always seems intimidated by Filler.
The issue is not the pockets or the rack. Four inch pockets are tough. Getting a look on the 2 isn’t...
