US Open and Mosconi coming to ESPN

Got to wonder if ESPN discovered that darts might be a nice thing to have after the recent airing. Could be pool was part of the deal.

US Open and Mosconi coming to ESPN

ESPN still has 60 million subscribers in the US. Its ESPN Plus service has 25 million reportedly. And tens of millions more access ESPN in some manner or another each year. If there is one broadcast station young people, especially men, still watch at times, it's ESPN. Matchroom should focus...

US Open and Mosconi coming to ESPN

Interesting. I've long thought the Mosconi was made for TV and ESPN. Of all pool events, it's the one to most attract some casual fans or even nonfans. Just the rowdiness and nationalistic aspect of it. What would be great if is ESPN carried the first team match of the Mosconi on its main...

$1.5M first place prize for Chinese tournament next week

My original post specifically referred to more Asian players going to China. Like you, I do not expect lots of non-Asians to fly to these events.

$1.5M first place prize for Chinese tournament next week

I don't know about touring pro 9b players, but Johann Chua, Dennis Orcullo, Jefrey De Luna, Jeffrey Ignacio, Kyle Amoroto, Baseth Mocaibat and ... Alex Pagulayan plan to attend the big Duya event. if those Filipinos go there, others will follow.

$1.5M first place prize for Chinese tournament next week

China is going to start pulling in lots of non-Chinese players in Asia with these prize funds. Good for the players, but Predator and MR now have another big rival.

SJM Trip Report: 2026 WNT UK Open a Big Hit

I doubt it. Very few players appear to have any real insight into what WNT does. Matchroom keeps things buttoned up. The event is also too small for Matchroom to care. Scheduling big events like the UK Open is a tough task. In the case, small events like this will have to adjust. Global pool...

    World Pool Masters 2027 rankings

Last year the China World Games drew some of the top European pros at the same time the Florida Open was being played. Filler, Woj, Maciol and Szolnoki among them. There does not appear to be a conflict this year. WPA calendar doesn't have any other big competing men's events taking place. It...

    World Pool Masters 2027 rankings

Matchroom put out its first list of rankings for the return of the World Pool Masters in 2027 in Taipei. Clearly MR is using the WPM to entice more top pros to play in its events and to continue to play in its events. Reaction to the WPA/Predator? Perhaps, but if so, good. Competition at work...

Dynaspheres and WNT Launch Major Partnership as the New Balls of the Tour

They probably would if I had some electrical work done and paid for. Dont want to do that, at least not yet, until I decide if a major basement reno is in the cards.

Dynaspheres and WNT Launch Major Partnership as the New Balls of the Tour

I don't have a direct light over my table. Three lights scattered around the table, I've tried different bulbs, pointed the lights in different directions and fiddled with the dimmer settings. Not ideal, and it's not practicable to install better lighting unless I renovate my basement.

SJM Trip Report: 2026 WNT UK Open a Big Hit

Feijin was uncharacteristically error prone in the first half of his match vs Josh. Basically gave two games away and scratched on one break. In a FB post, he said he was jumpy. He said he thinks it was because of a lack of exercise. He was cooped up during the event, up later than usual and...
