    Balabushka Cue Company reviews?

I have one of the old Japanese made models. GB-8. It's a beautiful cue. I'm not sure about the quality now.

How many have hardened leather or the phenolic tip for jump cue?

I have no idea if they used the felt for those money games. I was too young to be allowed in to watch them play all night. But they used the felt during the day. And this wasn't some upscale bar that had pool tables, it was a poolroom. Bobby Legg played there every day. Why don't you ask players...

How many have hardened leather or the phenolic tip for jump cue?

Well, this was an old school poolroom in the 70's, and there were some very talented players who shot there on a daily basis. Lots of big money games went down there. And I don't recall them having any problem with masse shots or jump shots.

How many have hardened leather or the phenolic tip for jump cue?

When I was young, poolrooms would have a separate "break" cue ball and a piece of felt for the shooter to place the ball on.

Balabushka Cues. Are the new ones decent or not

I've got one that's about 20 years old. I still think it's the most beautiful cue I've ever seen. Recently got a low deflection shaft for it, and it still plays great.

Tip Replacement - DIY or Professional?

I say, unless you use an extremely expensive cue that you are worried about damaging, do it yourself. It's cheaper and faster than having someone else do it. And it's pretty simple to do.

    playing well without aiming systems

Wow. This must be the most civil aiming discussion I've seen on here. It's interesting what CJ said about seeing shots as being straight in. When I'm shooting really well, I've noticed that the shots look just that way- more like straight in shots than cut shots.

can mosconi's high run be beat'n?

Some people may have run more than 526 balls in practice, but then again, Willie probably did too. Who knows what his all time high run was. As for the large pockets, IMHO, those pockets also made it much easier to scratch. And, who knows what kind of condition that table was in. I'd love to...

Balabushka cues owned by Irving Crane & Wimpy Lassiter

Yes, I realize these are replica cues. One of my cues is an Adams Balabushka. The original poster said that he wanted pictures of Balabushkas owned by Irving Crane. If these replicas are copies of actual cues owned by Crane, he would see what some of Crane's Balabushkas looked like.
