$1000 max, what's your playing cue?

I was fortunate to acquire a pre owned 60 inch Josh Treadway cue a few years ago at what I would consider a super price, (under $1000.00). Josh is a friend of mine and since I know what it would take to replace the cue, and his current backlog, I feel lucky to have it. It will never be for...

This cue is now residing in my basement 10 minutes from where it was built. Thanks Chris, Dan and Josh!

    Complete table & rails jobs

Yeah, I don't get it. Why doesn't Glen just send his customer the $1300.00 back and let the customer decide what he want's to do? I have no dog in this fight but I gotta say this. I have read a ton of these RKC/Diamond threads and he and Diamond may be the best thing going, but it seems to me...

The Ballad of John and Lou, Part Two

Played at Chesterfield Billiards a few times and took my 2 boys, about 10 and 13 at the time for lunch. Pretty good bar food as I recall. We sat at the bar and ate and after lunch the boys screwed their cues together and we headed for a 9 foot table. The bartender got a set of balls and asked me...

The Ballad of John and Lou, Part Two

Lou, I think your writing is excellent and look forward to your next installment. I remember you playing at Cue and Cushion in the early 2000's but we were never formally introduced. I was/am still just a banger but have decided to take my game a little more seriously and started playing in the...

gold crown vs other brunswick tables

I have an Olhausen table and it is OK for what it is. I don't think you will find a Brunswick furniture style table that plays like a Gold Crown. If I were doing it again, and purchasing a furniture style table my choice would be something made by the A. E. Schmidt Company here in St. Louis...

    Olhausen "death rattle" modification.

Thanks for the insight Glen. Like I said in my reply to Jack I'm not in the position to purchase a different table at this time but I think this simple mod and upgrading to Simonis cloth will fit my needs pretty well. The pockets are huge and the tighter pockets shouldn't be an issue. Thanks...

    Olhausen "death rattle" modification.

Thanks for the Reply Jack! The pockets are huge now so I really don't have an issue tightening them up. The table plays ok for what it is but I am getting a little more serious about the game and a different table is just not in the cards right now. Thanks again! Marty

    Olhausen "death rattle" modification.

Jack/Glenn, I have an Olhausen Sheraton Oak Table with the Accufast Cushions that I am going to have recovered in the near future. Do you think just using the facings without removing or replacing the cushions would help any? Marty

    Mark Wilson's New Book

I purchased this book a couple of weeks ago. Mark instructs out of a poolroom here in St. Louis and was kind enough to personally sign my book since he was giving a lesson there at the time. I have been playing about 15 years but never seriously. I have decided to get more serious about the...
