My comment was more in hope than tongue-in-cheek. I love his NFL analysis (especially as a Giants fan watching him jump on Cam Scattebo's hype-train last season). I don't care too much for him ruining WrestleMania main events. His studio looks quite big. Maybe Matchroom should arrange for a...
London's Finest doing some great things. There are a few very good 'regional' tours in England. I also wanted to recognize our (England's) other promotors, such as Total 9 Ball, Solihull 9 Ball and Cueball Promotions, for offering regular quality American pool tournaments throughout the year...
Totally agree.
Now, are these "great for your home table" or "great for your room" sort of balls?
I am interested to know what member's opinions would be if they rocked up to a tournament and every table had a set of these. Would you be a bit disapointed? I imagine a lot of regional TDs opt...
Here is section 16 of the WPA's Equipment Spec. Does the new 9 ball not meet the criteria?
BALLS AND BALL RACK
All balls must be composed of cast phenolic resin plastic and measure 2 ¼ (+.005) inches [5.715cm (+ .127mm)] in diameter and weigh 5½ to 6 oz [156 to 170 gms]. Balls should...
So I'm not in an exclusive club.
I'm certain he covers some lower-profile snooker tournaments here in the UK too. He's probably a lovely guy but, I'd rather listen to Janice, from Friends, read aloud the Chinese phone book.
Centennials should be the standard!
The best design feature of this Titan set is the Centennial (or Predator) style numbers in the white part of the striped balls. However, due to the bumble-bee style of the 9 this is lost on a tv screen. Players who prefer playing 8 ball may shun this set...
It seems like the rules change on a trial and error basis from one event to the next. Hopefully they will consult the players and settle on something that sticks.
Rules are the same for everybody, but would sting if something that contributed to your elimination was altered for the next event.
7' tables are a rare breed in England, maybe limited to SAM coin-ops found in bowling alleys. They cost £1.50 a game so a half decent race to anything isn't cheap. Plus, chavvy kids dressed in black North Face tracksuits and Air Max trainers take 20 minutes to get through a rack of 8 ball.
I...
I create this thread knowing full well that die hard straight pool players will think I'm trying to dilute their beautiful game. I live in the UK and am a UK 9 & 10 ball player currently on a self-imposed hiatus, mainly because I can't afford to replace my warped cues (this should change in the...
I'll be honest. For me the novelty of the 8 ball format was starting to wear thin. The barbox 10 ball will keep me invested in future events, if UPUSA opt to keep it of course.
