From my understanding (through a couple of different sources) Taom changed their formula a tiny bit, and this was for Predators new chalk. Predator didn't like something or some other thing, so Taom basically offered it to Alex for his branding and that's what his chalk is. This is, afterall...

Not much. Better than standard maple, but nothing compared to a Cnyergy or along those lines.

I've got no dog in this, but, I will say, I've busted open a carbon shaft from one of the Asian companies (a more reputable one) and it was foam filled at the top 8 inches, and bottom 8 inches. Hollow inside the middle.

Could just be as simple as a sticker he didn't take off.

This is/was my thought process, but I've heard/read horror stories about lots of paint used on thier higher end line.

Im just going by what thier own description says (real purpleheart with real maple points and rings) Im not in a position to spend anything more than a couple hundred (usd) in a butt end, and wanted something that feels along the lines of a Roadline (from Predator)

Any idea if the points are real? (Or painted) And how do they feel? And last, how's the mini radial joint? Im liking the look of the purpleheart with white points, but I keep hearing bad things about the woods, and the opinions on weather the points are real or not.
