Tournament fees are out of control

When given enough advance notice these tournaments fill up in my area. They are not regular tournaments and have different entry qualifications. As long as they are well run what is the issue?

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

Woking with a cuemaker to design and watch a cue be built is pretty satisfying in my opinion. I picked cuemakers that I liked their style (mainly ringwork) and had them make cues that included wood I liked. I loved the process. I played with all of them until it didn't make sense to be playing...

Which is BEST cuecase? Whitten? Laara? Phi eastwood? Rusty Melton? Jill Hawk? Or?

Ernie Gutierrez ships his cues in a whitten. Ill go with his choice for protection. For looks I like my Jack Justis. I would like to get a JB but when I last tried to order he seemed very busy. Haven't tried again. Currently using this 2x4 for playing...I like it but forget who made it. Friction...

Take all of the weight out of your break cue

I replaced the original predator BK wood shaft with a CF break shaft (weigh about the same). Then removed the weight bolt at the back. Could be lighter but still a big improvement

    What killed the slip stroke?

The slip stroke can also occur on the back stroke. Both of those occur at impact it seems.

    I have it, Do you?

My cue and case addiction is under control right now but I expect to relapse when I go to my next pool event that has dealers feeding my craving. I'm weak. I don't have anyone that will appreciate what I have when I am gone. So same as you.

Things I Don't Understand at the Pool Room

This week a guy that looked like a pool player, had nice gear, picked one of the tighter 9 fters, recognized that the cloth was still recently replaced, checked how fast the table played, then parked at the end of the table next to our table, where we were playing a race, and hit long shots...

What drills are best to get that smooth stroke like Buddy Hall , or Chris Melling?

I agree with playing on big tables, when you are still young. Snooker is the best for developing good mechanics IMO.
