    Toby Sweet

Here's links to the YouTube matches: I really like watching him play. Wish there was more footage of him and would especially like to see more footage of him (or really any of the noted greats) playing roll out. There so many who played that way that say those rules are better, and so...

    John Schmidt runs 820

Pretty epic run by John. I'm happy for him and hope he gets the record back, and that he and Jason Shaw can trade few more times to keep us all entertained. :) Just curious, has anyone besides Jason Shaw beet John Schmidt's 626 since he broke Willie Mosconi's 526 record? Has anyone else beet...

    Gorgeous cue!

Do you like forward or rear balanced cues?

It depends on the weight of the cue for me. If the cue is over 19 ounces, I prefer a weight forward cue. My Schon or one of my Hueblers would fall into this category for me. If I get down around 18.5, I don't mind and almost prefer a cue with the weight more to the rear like a Meucci or some...

Buddy Hall vs Steve Mizerak, who had the nicer stroke?

I'm a fan of both and was lucky enough to see both play in person a few times. Both players strokes were fantastic and looked even better in person than they do on video. I'd say that's true of most great players and why I always encourage people to take in a pro event if they get the chance...

    Todays Sneaky Pete cues

To the point of the original post, I've also been perplexed by the loose use of "Sneaky Pete" these days. I've mostly played with basic four point players, 4 points, visible joint colors, a wrap, etc. I've had a couple people refer to them as Sneaky Petes, which is crazy to me. It doesn't bother...

    Gloves and Carbon fiber shafts

I was at a tournament about a month ago and also found my carbon fiber shaft cold to the touch. I don't think it affected me much, played well enough in the tournament but didn't like the cold feeling it had. I just started using one early this summer, so that hadn't come up yet. I always...

    Break/Jump Cue?

I might be the same if I always played at pool halls with decent house cues, especially if it was the same room and I could squirrel away one I cherry picked. We don't have that here, most of the league and tournament play is in dive bars where the house cues are horrible. I don't really want to...

    Break/Jump Cue?

I had exactly the same thought, love these in concept but want them in a lighter weight. May be tougher because of the extra joint?

    Gloves and Carbon fiber shafts

I've been playing with Rhino shafts and like them fine without a glove, but it's pretty dry here. If I moved back to Virginia I might want a glove. Pros play in a wide variety of conditions, so for consistency sake it makes sense they'd just wear the glove all the time.

    A.E Schmidt tables

I grew up about an hour from St. Louis and the first pool hall I played in was in Fairview Heights IL, just across the river. They had a bunch of furniture style AE Schmidt tables, mostly 8s and I think a couple of 9s. Normally I'm pretty anti furniture style tables in a commercial setting, but...

Billy Incardona Life Story Released Today

They've all been great, but this one was really entertaining. I bet Billy could do another 100 of these and not run out of stories. Go Billy!

Is removing your glove a shark move?

I think it depends a little bit on how they do it. If they sit down and nonchalantly pull their glove off and scratch their hand, I doubt I'd see it. If thye get all mad and make a scene of ripping off their glove and packing it back up in their case, kinda bad from. I used to wear a glove...

    Sneak-Peek, Half-CaF Shaft

A little late to this thread, but would like to say I had a chance to try out the maple bottomed version DeeDeeCues mentioned. I didn't play extensively with it, but completely agree with this assessment in terms of the feel. Would love to try out this later version if DeeDeeCues would be so...

    10-Ball Last Rule

The shooter continues their inning, so long as the 9 was called and pocketed legally.
