Weight difference between Irish linen and leather wraps?

I was just wondering if any of you have noticed a weight difference between leather, stacked leather, and Irish linen wraps on the same cues. Wouldn't think it would make a big difference but thought I'd ask here. May be more to it than I realize.

Why I Quit After Playing Almost Everyday for 30 Years

I decided to play league again this year after about an 8 year break from any sort of competition, just champion of my own living room (if you don't ask my cat). I'm playing very well for me, but have found out at 48 I can't do the long practice sessions I did at 18 when I started. I try to do a...

    Accu-Stats DVDs

All I can say is they still have value for me. I love that they're releasing more on Youtube but there's still a ton of matches that aren't up. They're great to have when the internet is on the fritz. Also there's a bit of nostalgia in it for me and I love supporting a company that has really...

    Stroke trainer

I've been using one of these for years and think it's great. A different design but similar concept. I love it but I'm a big Buddy Hall fan. https://www.buddyhall.com/store

    9' Table Allergy?

I guess now I like 8 footers the best because that's what I have in my house. Used to be, a lot of pool rooms would have a lot of 8 footers in them. They were easier for players who started out on bar boxes or guys like me who just aren't that good.

Schon cue ID - a test

I'm pretty sure it's just s standard 5/16x14 rolled pin, was just wondering about the whole different pin thing because I hadn't heard of it. Tell Evan he made what's been one of my favorite possessions for the last 25+ years. :)

    Thanks! Not what I have.

Schon cue ID - a test

I have a Schon made about that time, I think I bought it in 94 or 95 and has been my main player most of that time. If I were going to buy a new Schon shaft for it, or one of those new fangled low deflation shafts, is the "not and ACME" pin something I'd have to worry about?

4 DENTON CUES 4 pointers 4 veneers with inlays

Really liking your work! Is the weight on your cues easily adjustable?

    Dynasphere Bronze balls......$100

Mine just arrived. No dust on them and they look great for $100. Looking forward to playing with them this evening.

Great champion level players who said that they never did any drills?

Gets to be a matter of semantics. I think of playing the ghost as more of a practice routine than a drill, but could easily see where others would see those two things as the same.

How would you compare the hit of a Kielwood shaft to the hit of an LD shaft like the Jacoby Edge Hybrid shafts?

I just got an OB Phoenix shaft last week. The other "LD" shaft I have the most experience with is a Meucci Black Dot, and I would say the OB Phoenix hits noticeably stiffer than the Meucci shaft, and stiffer than other LD shafts I've hit balls with, and just as stiff or stiffer than normal wood...

brunswick cues - made by joss?

I had the second one pictured back in the early 90's. Second cue I owned. Definitely not made by Joss, was a fairly inexpensive cue and I think made by Adams. For sure made over seas, I don't think they even tried to hide that at the time. It was a nice hitting cue, though. It did hit a lot like...

Do you know of players who had such Natural Talent, that they could have been a World Champion?

I saw Pete Horn out of North Carolina play in the mid-90's. He was a roady that mostly staid out of the limelight, but seemed like he could have been at that level. Supposedly Earl couldn't couldn't win against him when they were kids coming up. I think he's the guy Earl is talking about in that...

    John "Jack" Madden Custom Cues

Jack refinished and made a new shaft for a cue of mine a few years ago, and I could not have been happier with work in terms of quality, price, and time to completion. I think it's a little easier to get a hold of him by phone than email.
