Watching some of the free streams and the highlights on social media, the most important thing that sticks out is the crowd. There are people there, who enjoy watching pool and this lifts up the whole tournament. All the money aside, MR made a really bad decision moving the WC to the middle...

I know a player, who uses silicone spray to practice on our club tables before he goes to state championships or european championship to get used to a fresh cloth there. It makes a difference for sure. But i have to admit, I never played with silicone plus new cloth...must be like playing on ice..

Probably won't happen, but I cheer for Mario He. He came close many times, but never won a big title. He is a very humble guy and would deserve to be a world champion.

One thing to add about Albin: He definitly lost his nimbus of someone you don't want to draw in a tournament. The SVBs, the Fillers, the Gorsts...they sometimes win matches because of their name. And this helps a lot, especially in the early stages, when you feel jetlagged or you potting or...

Meanwhile Felix Vogel won the juniors event. This young man will be a player to watch for the future. He also played very, very well at this years European Championship, beating Mario He to secure the title for Germany in the team event. And for future MR events I would love to see more juniors...

That is a good point. When I was thinking about the topic, I had in mind that people just want to play. I know that this is not true on the professional level, where people want to make a living competing in their sport. But sooner or later most professional sports will have some kind of ruleing...
