    Best Players In Baltimore

Ever hear of Richard Riggie (7/7/15-7/12/89) Md State Champ 20 yrs. His son played Gumphries speed. What about Haney (can't remember first name) watched him play 50 no count. Heard he died in car crash down south.

    Unknown "monster" players

Gumps father was 100% full blooded American Indian, and his mother was a 100% lookalike of Debbie Reynolds!

    Unknown "monster" players

Gump couldn't beat anybody that was top speed, w/o weight! ie: Hopkins gave him the 7 ball. I knew him well, took him on the road in '73 '74? After dogging it the first day, he finally beat Bubba for a $500 race, then back to Maryland just before Christmass.

    Funny Pool Stories

Howard Barrett worked as a house man for Weenie Beenie in Jack & Jills, Arlington VA in the 1970's. Told me he knew Sonny Liston as a teenager, sleeping & cleaning up the pool room in St. Louis 1940. He was born cira 1918 same year as Taylor, Lassiter and "Rags" Fitzpatrick.

Was pool better 50 years ago?

I got away from pool starting in 1983, didn't hit a ball until the 2020 pandemic! My first contact with professional pool was in Pensacola FL(1963) betting on a World Class All Around Player named Richard Hunziker, playing Richie (from the Bronx) Ambrose. Then Ronnie Allen made the mistake of...

EUROPEAN OPEN 2026, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, March 10-15

Every time I turn around, it seams that AJ Manas either has some visa issues, or he wins his first two matches, losses his third match and is eliminated from a double elimination tournament. Mabe he needs to get away from that "mentor" Pilipino comedian who's supposed to be helping him. Visa...

2026 Premier League Pool Player List

AJ will likely have a break-out year in 2026; don't count him out, he has more natural ability than any of them!

    Knight Shot Open 2025

As soon as he keeps his concentration on "ALL" shots, and improves his cross rail simple banks, AJ Manas may be in the conversation. He appears to have as much natural ability as anyone and more than 90% of the top rated 100. ICE runs through his veins under pressure.

    526 consecutive balls

Forget that stupidity of "longer" shots on a 9 ft table. THE ONLY KEY THING HERE IS THE 4X8 TABLE! Its 3-5 times harder to run 100 balls on a 4x8 table because of the spread. None of these clowns beat Mosconi's record until they do it on a 4x8. Their accomplishments on the bigger table is...

    Funny Pool Stories

Blumenthal only played on a table with pockets big enough for big bar table ball to fit into. My only dealing with him was in 1964, when i challenged him to go play Hunziker in Pensacola, to bet whatever they wanted. No go! He played everybody, for 20 years including Chenier, but only on his table.

    Chinese Taipei open 2024

AJ beat Yapp 10-6 did they play a second time where he lost to Yapp on the hill? He beat Yapp 10-4 last year!

Billiards Digest 50 Greatest Players of the Century

This is what happens when there are only young people making up lists; and then to stupid to realize that there were over a hundred male players that no woman could have beaten. To attempt to set the record straight, between 1920-1980 the accepted best were...

    Best One-Pocket Players

Your all to young to know. Before Ronnie Allen, John "Rags" Fitzpatrick was the GOAT at one pocket He gave Taylor 9-8 and it was an even game, took 9-8 playing banks, also an even game HE DIED IN 1960 AGE 41. Lingo gave anyone 9-7 sight unseen, beat Squirrel that way. Squirrel waited until Lingo...

    Hawaiian brian

Apparently, he passed the day before his 76th birthday. Only time I met him, was in Richmond VA cir 1976, if he was the same Hawaiian Brian (7-20-43 to 7-19-19) He was with Bobby Mills, who was latter convicted of the "Mummy Murders"

    Richie Ambrose... RIP???

Beenie came up with a holdout table around 71? and got nailed by two brothers he was playing heads up with. It was a crude table, with only a flimsy cloth covering the underneath.. He always carried Kem cards to play with. He asked my running mate to go somewhere for him, gave him his keys, not...
