Well, now I've went and done it.

That sounds legit, but how much weight does a 1/8” hole eliminate? I need to research this T-88 epoxy, I’ve seen numerous people suggest it.

Well, now I've went and done it.

What’s the purpose of this hole in the side?

Az Members who build their own cues please post photo's of your new and old work!!!!

This is the last pool Cue for the foreseeable future. It’s the second of a set I started a few months ago. I was trying out some jigs I made for pre assembling rings. It worked ok, I learned not to over tighten the jig and a few other things. Didn’t really want to chunk the ring’s, so I dressed...

    3/8-10 pin install with pilot.

I completely agree with all responses. This will be the only 3/8-10 modified pin with pilot I do. I always liked Tim Scruggs 5/16-14 pins with pilots and thought I’d try it with a 3/8 pin. My pilot does contact the inside walls of the butt, but like mentioned it’s redundant. After posting, I...

    3/8-10 pin install with pilot.

When I look at the picture that Bob Dz posted, regarding 3/8-10 pins. It’s obvious to me that the modified pin is superior. Has anybody ever installed one with a pilot like pictured? I’ve installed phenolic inserts on both sides of the joint. What are your thoughts or experience with such an...

    SS pin weight

Fair enough, I apologize for not describing the pin as partially bored. I’m trying to be as candid as I can be. So, what I’ve gathered so far is that boring pins is not ideal as other options are available. However, I haven’t seen anything that shows that a bored pin is weakened or subject to...

    SS pin weight

I’m hesitant and feel like I’m going to take a beating for this statement: This gluing method doesn’t make sense to me. To insure filling the voids, he created a bigger void. It seems to reason that if you fill the hole with enough epoxy, have glue relief in the pin, the voids will be filled as...

    SS pin weight

It’s all good, my inquiry was about issues related to pins that were bored and installed. I’m not trying to negate your input because your first post pretty much was what I had been thinking. Seeing as we don’t know the reasons why your customer wanted the pin removed, it remains a moot point...
