    Spin

I would love to hear your opinion of Buddy Hall.

    Spin

Any spin created by hitting another ball would be minimal at best. The cue ball will pick up spin any time it hits a rail at any angle other that straight into the cushion,

    Poor performance in my matches

You may be thinking about the outcome of the game or match, rather than focusing on the shot in front of you. Focus on each shot and the match will take care of itself.

    SPF stroke techique problem

The best way I can suggest is to find your finish position, and focus on bringing your grip hand to the home position every time. When done properly, it will prevent you from dropping your elbow. For most players, that spot is somewhere on the outside edge of your pec. Steve

    Center ball

Something I learned from Fred Smith (CEO FedEx) years ago. "You can't manage what you can't measure" He was talking business, but it applies to pool as well.

Dominant eye relative to cue sight line

Well, I am an instructor, and the answer to your question is "maybe". Since you use both eyes to line up your cue, you need to position your head over the cue in such a way as to see a straight line extending out from the cue toward your target. It may be under your chin, under your right eye...

Opinions on traditional sports training for improvement in billiard play?

A word of caution. The amount of time spent practicing is not nearly as important as how and what you are practicing. If you aren't practicing the right things, you are drilling yourself with bad habits.

Opinions on traditional sports training for improvement in billiard play?

I think some of what you mentioned could be beneficial, but most instructors, myself included, are more likely to recommend training that is more specific to cue sports. You mentioned visualization as one area. I personally put a large emphasis on this during the mental game training portion of...

Any Thoughts on Timothy White's Material?

Line up a shot with an open bridge. note the tip position on the cue. Now just change to a closed bridge. you will see that the tip naturally moves lower on the cue ball. That isn't the reason we teach it that way, just an added benefit.

    Shaft diameter to skill level

Since all players are individuals, there is no right or wrong answer to your question. some players are more comfortable with different tips, shaft size, cue weight, etc. You need to find what works for you and stick with it, Overall, it's not about the equipment, it's about what you do with it...

    Swerve

The swerve is the result of hitting the cue ball off center. Since the amount of directional energy is greater than the offset energy, the swerve will wear off faster. The amount of swerve will vary depending on stroke speed, and the distance off center of the hit. Steve

Anything wrong with a short back stroke?

There is nothing "wrong" with a short backstroke. It can make shooting at higher speeds a bit more difficult. The key is to be consistent in every aspect of your stroke. this includes both your backstroke and follow through. Find the distance that will work for all your shots, and stick with...

    Training and Re learning

The laser level allows you to set up perfectly straight in shots. Set the level behind the head spot and aim it directly to the center of the jaws of the pocket. Use the laser to position the reinforcements along the laser line as Scott suggested. Steve
