Just have to make up different plugs from different materials and throw everything on a scale and see what you get, adjust with different materials if lite or heavy
Figured..... I tapped a 3/8x10 into a shaft and didn't like the way it felt, seemed soft. I ended up putting a purple heart plug in it, feels a lot better
I have a bottle of sewing machine oil, not sure where it came from but it's convenient. I try to keep it as dry as possible everywhere without wearing obviously, clean up is a lot easier that way. Wood dust packs up tight
Really be bad if a high dollar cue was spinning while it happened 😳
Mine are bolted down and the not very wide tables screwed to the wall. I had a visual of a cue spinning and things falling over, no way of grabbing it unless you want twisted up LoL
Yeah really anything will do as long as its not doing damage. I've seen just a v shaped piece of wood covered in a towel for the shaft to rest on while spinning 🤷🏻♂️
Probably rare but might pick one up or a much better one on market place for real cheap
I started with a 7x14 mini lathe 10 years ago or longer for tips($4-500), used it for years for tips before getting hooked and going all out. Actually still have and use it occasionally.
Just gotta put together something for the joint end of the shaft for support
#1 id make certain the faces of the shaft and cue are flat
#2 guess is your hole drilled or bored was to big
Where did you get your tap?
What material did you use for the insert?
