There is a really good burger joint called Gino's that has opened up since last year, it's right on 202 across the street from the mall. Lots of great places to eat all around though. I will probable eat at my house (it's less than a mile form the expo!)
I have seen these rules before and I think they were made up by some pool players who tripped over a snooker table one day and decided to play a game. I myself play Irish snooker rules (you make a ball--you drink a beer...)
Best of luck to you John, I met you a couple of years ago at Valley forge (I was the Irish snooker player who gave you the stance lesson!!). You seemed like a stand up guy to me and I hope it all goes great for you. My wife went to Wheeling Jesuit for 3 years so we have some good friends in that...
Josh took a couple of years off where he worked at a tough job but this year he his back practicing and winning almost every week. I think this is the 9th or 10th tournament he has won this year.
There might not be a nicer guy around pool that Josh so I am always happy to see him do well. He...
Well growing up in Ireland and only following snooker I would have to say Thorburn but I tell you Kirk Stevens match against Jimmy White in the 1984 masters was one of the best ever!! Also I did take a few beers off big Bill Weruniuk when I was 18 playing in the UK juniors in Harrogate way back...
Where's your table Gerry? I am trying to hit some balls here and there too (I have played one time so far!) I can play you some sets if you want. Let me know.
I have been living in Philly now for 13 years ( I am 37) but before that I played snooker pretty much every day for I guess 10 years in Northern Ireland. The problem for me is not having anybody to play really. There is one table near me but it is in pretty terrible shape with no real...
Neils ran 15 (9-ball) in Holland, Mika once ran 12 against me at Classic Billiards in Phoenixville PA about 6 years ago. I have run neither of these numbers!
Rex was better known for his Billiards but he was a pro snooker player too. A good match might have been billiards and straight pool between these 2 guys but really I don't think either of tham would have a chance at the other one's game. Mosconi played good snooker for a guy that didn't play it...
I am from the UK and I am glad to see Appleton over here mixing it up but before this match a lot of people did not seem to know who Hatch was and thought this was a mismatch. I live and play pool in the North East and I know Hatch well. He can mix it with anybody in the world in these rotation...
I have never seen any problems come up with the miss rule. The standard in this tournament will be good enough so the players can easily judge if they played a miss or not. If you play a 2 rail kick to glance off a red on your way back to baulk when you could have easily hit that red or another...
